Easy to use, full of historical facts
, Jul 2021
The audio tour was easy to use and full of interesting facts. I chose this option so that I could do it at my own pace, and rest when needed. I loved every minute of it and would recommend.

It took us through all historic York and was full of well documented stories. It was fun to play the guide in my group.
A must for all those visiting and wanting to explore the history of York

Brilliant tour. Been to York many times but never knew the history behind certain landmarks and helps unearth some hidden gems that you never knew were there. A must for all those visiting and wanting to explore the history of York.
Great walk but app didn't work

The walk itself was lovely, but had to keep phone on so GPS would stay connected. App didn't work on my phone (wouldn't download!) so I had to share with a friend.

Interesting tour and learned lots I was not aware of. Route was a little disrupted by closed gates due to vivid restrictions, but very clever design overall
Not able to use it!

Despite trying numerous times, and losing much time, I was not able to use it. Waste of time and money. We should have paid for an actual tour.
On future trips, we will look for this option first.

My wife and I typically enjoy walking tours, but often wish we could stop at some interesting little shop we see along the way, perhaps sit at a cafe for a drink, or linger a bit at a particular point of interest. The other alternative being to return after the tour, which we seldom wind up doing. This was the perfect alternative. The audio guide was very well done, and with only a few minor glitches (requiring a couple of restarts) worked as advertised. It took us 2 days to complete what should have been a 1-2 hour tour, and in our minds it was perfect. On the first day we decided to go in to Yorkminster while we were there, tour the cathedral, and even climb the tower. It was great. Later on the route we stopped for coffee, then wound up in a great little clothing boutique which was having a sale. At about half way through the tour, we decided to have a late lunch and drinks. Didn’t feel like carrying on after that, so we simply resumed the tour on the next day, right where we left off; completely on our schedule, inconveniencing no one, and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Two days might be a record for a VoiceMap tour Billy! But my personal preference for being spontaneous was part of what motivated me to start VoiceMap, so it's a real pleasure to hear it's meeting that need. Thanks for taking the time to post such a detailed review.
