I would say an okay trip. Would never do it again.

I liked seeing the place where George Washington lived and how he owned so many slaves. Hate to think of our founding father in that light. Before dying he did free them however, he was able to live a wonderful life on their backs. Literally.

I bought tickets for a Mount Vernon and Old Town Alexandria guided bus tour. I got a ride to Mount Vernon and a self guided tour and no tour of Old Town Alexandria. We really enjoyed Mount Vernon but I feel scammed because there was no tour of Old Town.

Ride was very bumpy and As I was in the last row of the bus the driver didn’t have a microphone so I couldn’t hear he said, he also had a heavy accent and even in person it was difficult to understand

Enjoyable Day

The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is that we just didn’t have enough time at Mt Vernon to see everything. Otherwise it was very enjoyable.

Just a ride - not a tour guide

This was basically just a ride to Mt Vernon. The driver wasn’t what I would call a tour guide. Once we got to Mt Vernon, he got us our tickets and left. We were on our own for 3 hours. The audio tour was sold out for the day so we had to download one on our phone. The line for the mansion tour was 20 minutes. The only real complaint was the driver on the return trip told jokes (one was inappropriate) and one of the other passengers even asked him if he knew any American History he could talk about instead of telling jokes. I would recommend taking an Uber.

Great experience. Need more time at Mt Vernon. 3 hours was definitely not enough. Driver was knowledgeable and informative.
