    • If you are staying at Emu Walk apartments, your pick up location will be Desert Gardens hotel. If you are Staying at The Lost Camel, your pick up location will be Sails in the Desert Hotel. Pick up times differ depending on the time of year. On arrival into your Ayers Rock accommodation please call to reconfirm your touring pick up time.
    After early morning pickup at Ayers Rock Resort, travel in a climate-controlled minivan with your guide to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park.

    As you drive into the park, the massive form of Uluru rises over the sand dunes. Stop at a scenic viewpoint where you eat an outback breakfast while watching the sun rise over this icon of the Red Centre.

    Once the sun has risen, head to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent water hole tucked into the rocks of Uluru. Your guide shares the Aboriginal creation stories of the battle between Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (woma python), and other ancient Dreamtime legends.

    You'll also view ancient rock art and learn about the importance of Uluru to the local Aboriginal people.

    Cap off your tour with a drive around the base of Uluru before your guide returns you to your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation.

Here you will learn the Creation stories of Kuniya (woma python) and Liru (venomous snake) and their battle for control of Uluru as well as a number of other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Creation Time) stories. You will also see the rock art on the cave walls and learn how Uluru was, and still is, a significant location for teaching young Aboriginal people.

    All four in our group thoroughly enjoyed this special experience. John our guide was a genuine old guy with lots of experience at Uluru. We were picked up on time, John made an unscheduled stop so that we could get the best view of the sun rise and a great photo opportunity. Our breakfast was simple yet delicious, as much as you could eat museli, fruit and a great banana bread all washed down with as much tea, coffee and juice as you wanted. We then moved on to the Mutajula waterhole. John explained the messages given in the rock art and the waterhole was a green haven amongst the dry desert landscape. Take a fly veil, available at the IGA at the resort area and enjoy the sunrise at Uluru.

    We were picked up at our hotel right on time and then we drove to a vantage point near Uluru to have a breakfast snack and coffee, and wait for the sunrise. It had rained quite a lot the night before so we were greeted by a shroud of fog over Uluru. So sunrise was a bust. After breakfast we went for a short walk to the waterhole (which was quite full of water from the rain) and drove around the base of Uluru. It was a great morning.

    It was an early start to see Uluru at sunrise, but it was worth it. We enjoyed a pleasant breakfast as we watched the rock change colour as more of the sun shone on it. There were also times when we saw it with cloud on the top, something we were told did not often happen.

    the sunrise was amazing - a very spiritual experience. The location was by a road - but was okay. our Driver and guide for our walk was very good. I had unfortunately done the same walk with the sunset group the day before - but it was interesting that the guides told different stories. The breakfast was bit disappointing as I don't like bananas or dried fruit and - banana loaf and cereal bars were on offer. I did have a coffee and cereal. I would do it again and recommend it.
