Make your own way to a central meeting point to meet your guide and small group of no more than eight people. Traveling by air-conditioned minivan, set out on the journey to Chambord and soak up the scenery as you wind through the rolling countryside and lush vineyards of the Loire Valley.

Along the way, catch a glimpse of some of the region’s other castles, including Amboise, Chaumont, and Clos Lucé. Arrive at the Château de Chambord and take time to admire its grand façade, a masterpiece of French Renaissance architecture and one of the most photographed castles in France. Accompanied by your guide, head inside to explore the 16th-century castle; see architectural highlights such as Leonardo da Vinci’s staircase and the royal suites of François I; and enjoy spectacular views over Chambord Park.

Then, visit a family-owned chateau for an aperitif of local wine and a French delicacy. After, enjoy free time to purchase lunch, which can be brought with you or purchased at a French boulangerie.

In the afternoon, head to one of the most iconic of all the Loire castles, the Château de Chenonceau is a fairy tale brought to life and you have plenty of time to take photos before heading inside. Enjoy a guided tour of the historic castle, marvel at priceless artwork and tapestries, then gaze out over the glittering Cher River and stroll around the magnificent gardens.

After a full day exploring the Loire Valley, return to your original departure point.

Lovely tour, excellent guide!

This tour is great for anyone who doesn't have their own transportation while in the area. Our guide for the day was Lara and she was lovely and very knowledgeable about everything we saw. Even though it was a rainy day we had a great time and were thankful for the thoughtful little touches Lara brought to our day, including the umbrellas! Thank-you again Lara, we had a wonderful time.

We found this tour on internet and we chose it because it was a small group tour. We were 5 person in the group. We’ve been picked up in Amboise a little late, but they give us the corresponding apologies (2 person never arrived at Tours). After 15 minutes driving we get to the Beautiful Château de Chenonceau. Then we have lunch in a private Château in Villesavin. The owner cooked for us an amazing french lunch!! Then we go to the stunning chateau De Chambord. After we leave, we take a petit picnic in the area. Agate was our Guide, and she was incredible!! She made the visit memorable and take care of everything that we needed. We totally recommend this trip.

Everythung was perfect about the day and the guide. We did feel a bit cramped though....four couples is a bit more than the van needs. But well worth it. Daphne is a fun, high energy guide!

The small group tour is definitely the way to go if you’re interested in a quality tour. Our guide was extremely personable, knowledgeable and was able to navigate the large summer tourist crowds quite well. The tour included a stop at a small chateau for a fabulous French lunch—Pate, quiche, salad, cheese and dessert as well as wine The total group only numbered five so there was a lot of interaction. A very special day—am so glad I had reserved the small group tour with lunch!

The tour of Chambord and Chenonceau in the Loire Valley was a memorable day for us. Agathe was our guide and she was exceptional in providing a very personal and informative visit to these historic sites. She also arranged a very special lunch at a smaller chateau in the area that added a nice touch to the tour. The ambiance and food provided contributed to just the perfect lunch. Agathe answered all of our questions and is an excellent guide for Olaloire and Viator Tours. Highly recommend you take this tour and ask for Agathe.

Agathe was a great guide. She took us to 3 chateaus. We were offered brunch of croissants and coffee, a delicious lunch at a chateau, and afternoon wine and nibbles. Highly recommended.

The tour was through a fairly new tour company. Our guide, Daphne, was super! We started the tour with coffee and rolls that she had packed and ended with wine and regional snacks. The Chateaus were beautiful and lunch at a family owned Chateau was very cool.
