Godfather vs Mafia Tour & Sicilian Light Lunch (Private or Small Group)

This was a nice tour to walk through the various sites where the godfather was filmed and finish with a very nice lunch. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was that comparing the price to other tours we have done in Italy through Vidor, it is a little bit pricey.

Rosario was a wonderful guide and driver. He picked us up on time and immediately started sharing information about the area, The tour doesn’t only focus on the Godfather movie; the guide shares more interesting facts about the mafia in Sicily and in the states, Very informative!! The short movie showing the scenes from the films was a good reminder. Lunch is exceptional! It was by far the best pasta dish I had on our trip.

Well paced and informative. Valerie was a pleasure to listen to and we were fortunate to be in a great group of 7 others but that was expected.....we all had a love of the Godfather phenomenon! Mercedes van was comfortable too. Lunch was excellent with a bottle a glass of wine. Only criticism is that an espresso was extra....really?!!. Highly recommend though.

Interesting tour - we learnt not only about the Godfather but also more interestingly the mafia in Sicily over time. The short movie showing the scenes from the films was a good reminder. Giuseppe was very knowledgeable. Only slight issue was that there was a very, very small glass of wine for the lunch.

Best tour i ever had. Super local guide, comfy car, wonderful places to see and much information you will never find on internet or travel books. Lunch is exceptional! Would mark with 6 stars.

Legends and truth of mafia! Wonderfull small group tour with brilliant expert guide Saro who revealed the truth of real Sicilian mafia, shared the secrets of Godfather movie making and took us to the best places where it was filmed. Restaurant in the end of tour was posh! Certainly this tour was our best experience in Sicily.

A wonderful tour and highly recommend. Our guide Rosario was brilliant, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We visted lots of beautiful villages and churches used in the Godfather film. Our light lunch and glass of wine was delicious. We were also very lucky to share the tour with a couple from Australia, who were lovely. Such a wonderful opportunity to see such amazing villages and meet lovely people. Thank you for this tour, we have such wonderful memories.

Wir haben am 21.10.2020 mit Salvo die „private“ Godfather Tour gemacht. Privat deshalb weil wir nur zu zweit waren. Die Tour findet dann trotzdem statt. Angeboten wird sie ein Englisch und Italienisch. Auch wenn man nur ein bisschen die Sprachen beherrscht konnte man der Tour wegen der Bildhaften Sprache unseres Experten toll folgen. Die Exkursion ist mit Abholung vor dem Hotel (bei uns im Bel Soggiorno in Taormina) und einem Mittagessen (Pastagericht) in einem tollen kleinen Lokal perfekt organisiert. Unsere Tour ging gute 5 Stunden mit Freiräumen zur eigenen Besichtigung. Salvo hat uns als perfekter Filmkenner der 3 Patenfilme überrascht. Er hat es fertig gebracht, dass wir jetzt die 3 Filme direkt danach angesehen haben. Es ist dann ein tolles Erlebnis die immer mal wieder auftauchenden Szenen, die man selbst besucht hat, wieder zu entdecken. So macht Filmschauen spaß! Alle Drehorte der Ecke hatten wir besucht. Dabei wurden wir in einem größeren Transporter mit bequemen Sitzen transportiert. Es gibt immer wieder neue Blicke, neue schöne Flecken oder einfach der Charme von kleineren sizilianischen Orten zu entdecken. Die engen Gassen mit tollen Blicken auf den Ätna, auf das Meer oder vor Messina liegende Kreuzfahrtschiffe – all das kann einem passieren. Zu den jeweiligen Drehorten, Kirche, Bar, Wohnung, die Blicke konnte Salvo uns immer die passende Szene auch mit den Hintergründen erklären. Schön ist dabei auch die teilweise liebevoll restaurierten Ecken zu sehen, an denen man schon eigentlich fast in Unkenntnis vorbeiläuft. Ein unbedingtes Muss ist natürlich auch jene berühmte Bar, in der Michele Corleone um die Hand von Apollonia angehalten hat. Von außen komplett mit Weinreben und Pflanzen überwuchert kann man schön im Innenhof im Schatten sitzen. Ein Muss ist dann natürlich auch rein zu gehen. Einfach toll gemacht. Dazu die regionale typische Granita di limone con cibibbo (mit Muskatwein) genießen und schon fühlt man sich in die Vergangenheit zurückversetzt…. Kurzum – man kann es ohne Führer selbst erarbeiten. Aber so wie wir die Punkte gezeigt bekommen haben, schafft man das definitiv nicht alleine! Machen Sie es wie wir – mit Salvo….
