Fun but weird

Honestly I had fun!! This is something very different but the workers are very unprofessional, they think they can do whatever they want including making fun of others, haressing others and scaring others. I would have rate this 5 star but due to the workers. I'll give it a 2 out of 5

The tour guide bus arrived on time to pick us up from our hotel in tamarindo. Ronny was the main guide Jeffrey was our driver. Since nothing in the description mentioned breakfast we brought a few snacks and Ronnie was like “we’re stopping for breakfast”. Which confused me and I said so. I said there was nothing in the description for breakfast, he said there’s a place we’re stopping and you get eggs and meat and rice and beans. So we’re like oh ok and we didn’t eat what we brought. So about an hour in we stop at basically a gas station where you had to BUY “breakfast”. At that point we were hungry because we hadn’t eaten our snacks and we felt obligated to buy food there. During the drive Ronnie was trying to be informative and tell history about Costa Rica like all the other tour guides had so far, but his was more like a quiz. Felt like a test we didn’t study for and we were just trying to relax on the long early drive. Once we got to the place it was very confusing on what we were doing first and when lunch was going to be and what should we wear first. The description says “bring shoes that can get wet, a bathing suit, dry clothes and dry shoes”.. So we did. He said ok zip lining, horse back, then lunch then tubing and then hot springs. I ask “so we’re coming back so we can put our phones and wallets back in the van so we don’t get them wet right?” He says yes yes. Well, first of all there was a huge group like 30 people so you could imagine how long everything took. We left Ronny and there were about 8-10 guys that would continue the tour. They immediately picked my husband out to harass we felt. It was my husband and I and my two 18 and 21 year old daughters. First line down they bounced his line. Then my daughter screamed the first line down so they then starting harassing her to either make her time more fun because she screamed or laugh at her for screaming. Regardless there was a point we were all crammed on a platform waiting for the guides to catch up and get a ahead. Very uncomfortable and i did not like being forced to be shoulder to shoulder and touching strangers. The actual zip lining was very scenic, felt safe and was fun. Then straight from there to horses. It took nearly an hour to get each horse out of the corral and the rider on. A LOT of waiting time. Would have been way more enjoyable to have like maybe 5-10 people in a group rather than having to wait the then be crowded on the trail. The horses were trained to just follow each other there wasn’t any real control as far as getting them to go faster or slower my daughters took off on her one of the guides helped her the rest of the way. We then loaded a bus and went straight to tubing! We have phones and wallets and we were the only ones who were mislead on what the schedule was going to be. They told us we could leave our stuff on the bus. Our wallets and $800 phones?!? Well they finally gave us garbage bags to put our stuff in to stuff in our pants and suits in hopes of them not falling out during tubing. The tubing was VERY extreme! Painful rocks and very very cold! It was fun but everyone in the group was talking about how they’re getting beat up and this was more white water rafting then for tubing. They again harassed my husband. The grabbed his tube and starting rocking him awkwardly making fun and they splashed him in his face every chance they got. We survived the rafting and then boarded the bus for a crazy drive straight to lunch!! Wet clothes wet tennis shoes and all! They never gave us a chance to dry off or change into the dry clothes and shoes they told us to bring! We were shaking freezing the whole time we were supposed to be relaxing having our lunch! Terrible! Very ill planned and we weren’t the only ones miserable. Meal was good though. Then straight to hot springs which were also nice. Super long review but these are things I would want to know if I were looking for a tour.

This was an amazing place! The Zip line through the trees and Canyon was beautiful and tubing down the river was quite the adventure with the high level of water. The staff was very professional and insured we were all safe and had a good time! The hot springs were the perfect ending to and adventurous day!

Good Tour Overall
Jennifer_C
, Mar 2020
Good tour overall. The ziplining was really crowded and due to the staff not being properly placed along the course the whole time, there were a lot of times were several of us were simply standing on the platforms for long periods of time waiting for a staff member to get to the next platform so we could continue the course. This got very uncomfortable a few times. This is also a very active course. They are serious when they say there is rock climbing and there are some areas were getting from one platform the the next is quite a bit of work. This was not an issue for me or my partner, but it is something others may want to take into consideration. However, the course was beautiful and I would have no complaints if we were able to get through the course in a smoother and quicker manner. The horseback riding was also a little underwhelming mainly due to the fact that the path we road down was not even slightly scenic. We did a separate horseback tour on the beach and I would recommend that instead. However, it was still nice and only a small part of the overall tour. The hot springs were amazing. We went there first and they were completely empty when we got there (though they started to fill up as we were leaving). The area was beautiful and the different pools at different temps were all nice. We also painted ourselves with the volcanic mud which was a lot of fun and made for some good pictures. My favorite part was the tubing. It was just some much fun and it was our last activity and a nice way to cool down after the ziplining and horseback riding. The forest around the river was amazing and going down the rapids was a lot of fun. Overall I would recommend this tour. Just keep in mind it is a really full day.

Great Tour!

Really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Ronny was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, kind and funny! As for the tour, bring water shoes and running shoes. The tubing was super fun, much more thrilling than expected. The zip lining is awesome as well. If you do not like heights or a small amount of rock climbing this tour is not for you. The horseback riding was also amazing. Horses were healthy, had access to adequate food and water and their stalls were very clean. Clearly well taken care of! Lunch was delicious, large buffet, vegan, veggie, meat options. Make sure you eat breakfast and bring a snack for the road! All around great tour, highly recommended!

Amazing combo trip!

We had an excellent time on this adventure. At first we were a bit confused about the order of the activities, but the tour guide ended up being a fantastic guide and made the experience unforgettable for us. We were picked up at our hotel right on time and booked with the Natives Way tour company (much better than a big bus, there ended up being only 6 of us). You will need a copy of your passport at this time, black and white was fine. We were picked up at the RIU Guanacaste and it took about 50 minutes to reach the first destination at the Hacienda Guachipelin, we did stop halfway for coffee and a snack. I am not always sure if this is the order of activities since we only did it once, but we rode horses first. Tip: They'll tell you to rent a locker but if you take a backpack leave everything in the van they pick you up in. It follows you all day and is locked. You MUST bring water shoes, not flip flops. They will not allow flip flops, and the terrain was difficult walking so you'll want them. After tubing (awesome and sometimes rough rapids so don't take small children) they provided towels so they won't be needed. Then after that we ate lunch, then zipline, and hot springs. I would suggest to wear your bathing suit to start with activewear over top. Take a change of clothes for the end but keeping a suit on nearly all day wasn't bothersome. Bug spray sunscreen combo worked great. We were able to take an additional trip to swim under a waterfall which was unexpected and beautiful. Hope this helps but it was well worth the money and our favorite of the trip.

Raging Water Tubing!
SHAMEKA_M
, Mar 2020
At first, I was not too enthused about this trip and weary of the cost BUT in the end it was so worth it! I was so pleased with this trip, beyond measures. It was packed with so many activities that the day flew by. I didn't even realize we were out ALL day long because we were having so much fun. I challenged myself and faced my fears on the zipline, which includes rock climbing about 200-300 ft above a river. I was scared but I did it! The tubing in raging waters was phenomenal. Horse back riding, you name it, we did it all in one day! Our guide Paul was great, too. Book your trip and you will NOT be disappointed.

The trip there and back was a disaster
DANIELLE_B
, Mar 2020
The adventures themselves were amazing. We had a blast. The drive however was a disaster and we waited 1 1/2 hr to get picked up after the time agreed apon. Then the ride back they forgot to drop us off so we drive 2 hrs out of the way to get other people home then back to get us even though we were the first stop 20 min away from the adventure place. Then we paid for pictures and never got them
