Discover the best of Palermo with ease during a hop-on hop-off bus tour of the Sicilian city, complete with audio commentary.

There are two bus routes to choose from, and you can switch between them to fully explore everything Palermo has to offer. Line A includes stops at the Quattro Canti, the Botanical Gardens, Palermo Cathedral and Vucciria Market. Line B includes stops at the English Garden, Mercato del Capo and Teatro Massimo.

Join either bus tour at any stop, and get off the bus any time you like to visit a nearby attraction. Stop to admire the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace), built by Arab emirs in the 9th century, or the Baroque architecture of the Quattro Canti. Visit the Castello deall Zisa’s fountains and gardens and the colorful stalls of Palermo’s busy outdoor markets.

All of the stops for the two bus routes are listed in the itinerary section. Both routes stop at Teatro Politeama and Teatro Massimo.

The tour gave a good overall view of the city. At times you could not hear through the ear buds. But I did not say anything to guide

We use these every time we visit Italy ,such a great idea We usually stay on for the full tour of the city to get our bearings then go round again to get off to explore something that’s caught our eye Great idea , the big red hop on hop off bus are the best compared to other company’s we have found Palermo was no exception 👍🏻

Worthless

Not worth the $$. The old town line (red line) went all around the perimeter of old town, but all the walking was inside. Nothing was more than .75 miles end to end. Complete waste.

Informative and a great way to see the city of Palermo. However disappointing that you can buy your tickets directly on the bus cheaper than you can from Viator.

Loved Palermo, but unfortunately the day we went we were blighted by torrential rain. We optimistically boarded the first Hop on Hop off bus of the day near the port we were on a cruise and decided to go UP TOP. The rain started, it was windy, but we thought we'd brave it out with umbrellas as we didn't want to see the city through steamed up windows. BIG MISTAKE - we were absolutely drenched and in the end had to leave the bus before it has finished its red route. We never got onto the blue route and were told later by some fellow cruisers on our bus that it stopped and cancelled any further trips because the conditions were so bad. Not your fault I know. My husband developed hypothermia and we had to get him back to the ship quickly. One memory of Palermo that will stay with me forever was a half eaten dead cat on the pavement in the dock area - that no one had seen fit to remove! Still, it is a beautiful city - a bit like Naples only more so - but do choose a sunny day! Incidentally, the city provides a free city bus which follows a similar route to the Hop on Hop off - no commentary though and no up top - I don't know if it provides anything for the blue route.

The biggest problem was locating the bus stops. Despite having a map showing given points of pick /drop off, they weren't always signposted with the bus tour making it very difficult to know if you were in the right place. Locals were helpful but often didn't know themselves or sent us to the wrong bus stop. Wasted a lot of time on a one day trip in Palermo waiting at bus stops and often the wrong ones. Clearer signposting like a simple solution of company sign at designated bus stops would be useful? We did the A line route but never found the B line. Even the bus company staff were vague and we went the wrong way. Expensive really at 20 each. Horse and carriage only costs 50 bartered down and they let you get off and explore sights too and can carry four people.

This is a good way to get around the busy city, but the commentary is minimal. There is such opportunity to provide visitors with information on the sights and history surrounding us, but that just didn't happen. You still need your own guide book to figure out what you're looking at and the historical relevance. We walked up to the catacombs from stop 6 I think and that was interesting. I usually love seeing new cities this way, but this tour was definitely lacking.
