Disastrous waste of money made worse by the owner
, Oct 2021
Buyer beware of this unprofessional and unscrupulous operation. Even though the description for this tour clearly states under “What’s Included” is "an air-conditioned vehicle," indicating that this is a driving tour vs. a walking tour, this appears to mean it is a driving tour only if convenient for the owner not the customer, and the tour will be a walking tour unless it is convenient for the owner to make it a driving tour. This happened to us and we were not able to participate. Further, the owner questioned our reasoning for not calling to confirm that the Wild Wild West tour was driving tour despite the description of “an air-conditioned vehicle” being included (and despite never being able to reach anyone on the phone) and called us all sorts of names for assuming that this is a driving tour. Since I could NEVER reach the business by phone and the voice mailbox was full and would not allow me to leave messages, I used an email address to communicate with the business owner. His email communications with us were rude, unprofessional, untruthful, and full of insults. Franky, I am shocked he handled a situation like this as a business owner. Insults ranged from calling us RUDE for not being able to participate due to injury and apparently not communicating this to him in a manner he found satisfactory. Specifically, even though one person in the party communicated that we could not participate 30 seconds into the tour once we realized this was a walking tour and walking was NOT going to work due to injury, the owner actually stated not once but twice that it was RUDE that the injured person was unable to hobble up a steep hill and communicate this to him PERSONALLY vs. the other person in the party. The owner’s exact words were “Then you leave the tour without communicating with me. Yes Pam that is rude. It was rude to not explain yourself and just walk off from the tour.” So, apparently, he did NOT find it satisfactory that the person in our party without the injury was able to run up the hill and communicate to him and explain the situation that we could not participate in the tour 30 seconds after it began and chose to call the injured party RUDE not once but twice for not being able to run up the hill after him and communicate this to him directly. I am not making this up I have two unbelievably rude emails from the owner stating this. The owner did not stop there with the insults and bestowed many more on us when we realized the tour included one hour of walking and 1/2 hour of driving which we didn’t find out until being on the street at the beginning of the tour. The owner even went so far as to call us dishonest for repeating back to him his exact words which other people in our party heard at the beginning of the tour and that was not communicated to us previously; that the tour included one hour walking and ½ hour driving (at least for this tour as it appeared convenient for the owner as the other participants he grouped us with bought the one-hour walking history tour and he had to take care of them apparently). He denies he said this despite the three other witnesses and calls US dishonest via email for saying that he did. Bottom line - buyer beware and those that understandably assume that this is a driving tour based on the description, know that it is only a driving tour if/when convenient for the owner and he will insult you for making such an assumption. Further, buyer beware of this business’ tactics including insulting and berating the customers. Specifically, I am speechless that he chose unsolicited and untrue insults as the method for dealing with our situation. How dumbfounding. I fully expect the owner to respond to this review with a diatribe of more lies and insults as it appears the owner projects his own dishonesty and lack of character on others. He chose to respond with spiteful insults when I suggested he find a way to improve his customer service. I expect no less from him as a result of sharing our extremely poor experience on this platform.

We have excellent reviews across all platforms and that is not achieved through poor customer service. Just as in this review this person is very dishonest in many aspects of this review. This person was inconsiderate in many areas which I overlooked to please her. Even after she disappeared from the tour I still offered them an all driving tour to accommodate them which is not part of the tour but I offered as a courtesy. A day later I received an email from her wanting her money back. She was lying about many things that occurred. She didn't realize the owner was the one giving her the tour so she made up a lot of lies. I don't respect those who lie. She says she repeated back my words and three others confirmed. She never spoke to the others she was gone from the point she left the tour. She said I called her names. False. I said she was dishonest because that is the truth. I will give my best customer service and accommodate the best I can but I will not tolerate those who lie. Be honest, be fair and be kind. Unfortunately this customer couldn't be any of those.

Not what we paid for
, Oct 2021
When we first walked in the tour guide had no idea we were even coming and was not friendly at all. She also questioned that bottled water was included and I had to show it to her in the voucher. She took us up one hill and then back down the hill and a little bit in town, and did tell us a good amount of the mining history which was interesting. But only one small anecdote about Wyatt Earp and no other information about the wild west or historical figures involved, as described on this tour web page. I even asked her for some information about Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp and she said she didn't know anything else. Her attitude did get better throughout the tour, so we had no issues after that, but this tour was falsely advertised and the name and description need to be changed. We also did not stop at the mining museum is advertised, only walk past it. We feel misled by the listing and also by the description when I called your customer service rep to see the difference between this tour and the Jerome history walking tour. The reason we chose this tour was because we were particularly interested in the wild West Feature. We hope you take this into consideration.

Hello Sharon, I'm sorry to hear the tour was not up to your expectations. I take customer service very seriously and watch over all aspects of the operation. We have not had one bad review on this tour in its entirety. I would like to point out a few things. We review our itinerary every morning. It is infront of us all day long. We have to prep equipment for every tour so we know the names, number of guests, and what time their tour is. We are well aware of who is coming in. To say we had no idea you were even coming in is completely false. We ask for the name on the reservation to confirm each party, that is not an indication that we are unaware, we are confirming and checking guests in. Something to note not every customer receives a free water. Only those who book on Viator. I reviewed the footage of the interaction. I didn't see the tour guide being unfriendly. She asked for your Viator voucher to confirm you booked with Viator to receive the free water and once she did she gladly offered the water. It is part of their job to confirm these things and track it. It appears a misinterpretation of her asking for confirmation as being unfriendly. You stated she gave a good amount of mining history which was interesting and her attitude was positive on the tour. I also reviewed the footage from her body cam. She gave you the whole story on how Wyatt Earp and Billy the Kid almost had a shoot out in Nora's brothel. She gave history on William A Clark, James Stuart Douglas, TF Miller, George Hull in detail how he was the mayor, Justice of Peace, one of the first Pioneers in town before William A Clark, the whole 9 yards. You probably know the history now better than some locals. To say " no other information about the wild west or historical figures" is again inaccurate information. You also stated the description is falsely advertised and the tour title needs to be changed. The title and description on our web page is as follows Wild Wild West... "Journey into the past as we unveil Jerome's salacious wild west. The rise and fall of the worlds largest copper mining town, to famous figures such as Billy the Kid, the infamous murder of Brothel owner Belgian Jennie and the reign of the Cuban Queen." Every one of the topics mentioned above was covered and more. It states " unveil Jerome's wild west" not Americas wild west. We cover Jerome's history and cover some popular historical characters that passed through town and their interaction in Jerome not their whole history. I'm not sure if you misread the description but it clearly states Jerome's history which is exactly what you got. We don't promote Doc Holiday on our site nor do we mention him. We cover the highlights and to cover any more would take many hours. In regards to the Mine Museum if states " we pass by without stopping " The tour description is what you received with all topics and characters among many others being mentioned. I feel you misread the description and gave us a bad review for your misinterpretation. In addition you made some inaccurate statements.

Good Tour

The tour guide took me to several historic sites and buildings and gave lots of history. Guide was good but not great, seemed somewhat unenthusiastic.

Enjoyed learning about the history of Jerome. Great tour guide who shared a lot of interesting information.
Really interesting little town!

It was a good tour! Marco was our guide and we did part of the tour on foot, then into the van for the rest. He’s very knowledgeable and is interested in the history of the town and that translates into a lot of interesting facts and stories! Be sure to call and find out where parking is - it’s not too far from the check in, but not obvious!
Fascinating and fun tour.

The fact that we were the only two people in the tour van on a busy Easter weekend with Jamie navigating the STEEP, narrow hairpin turns. She gave us a knowledgeable and fun tour of the entire area.
