Muir Woods National Monument tour: Hotel pickup in San Francisco starts early for the drive north across the Golden Gate Bridge, meaning you’ll reach Muir Woods before many other tours arrive. On your way out of the city, see the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio.

Muir Woods National Monument is home to a pristine forest of California coastal redwoods, which are some of the planet’s tallest and oldest trees with heights that can reach 250 feet (76 meters). You have some time here to wander through the grove of giant sequoias and cross over mossy streams. Your guide will tell you about the local vegetation and wildlife along the nature trail. Then return to the tour vehicle for the drive further north into wine country.

Wine country tour: When you reach your first winery in Sonoma County’s Carneros region, you can explore the grounds, enjoy photo ops of the vineyard and sample a variety of wines in a welcoming atmosphere. For lunch, guests can choose one of two lunch options. The first is to venture out on their own and try one of the many cafés and restaurants located in the plaza. The second option is to upgrade their wine country experience to the next level with a private seated gourmet food and wine pairing experience at a local restaurant. They will enjoy delicious local food paired with a collection of California wines. After being greeted with Sonoma Valley cheeses and sparkling wine, guests may select a course such as minestrone Soup with navy beans and vegetables, pasta with either a beef and pork sauce or arugula-almond pesto sauce or grilled salmon with seasonal vegetables and balsamic reduction. Afterward, continue your tour to your second and third wineries in Sonoma County or Napa County for more tastings. Enjoy a leisurely stop at each winery, and you’ll have the chance to taste 3 to 5 wines of different varietals, from white to red to sparkling. Tasting fees are included, and you may purchase bottles not available in retail stores to take home. See below for a sample of wineries you may visit.

Your day trip ends with the drive back across the Golden Gate Bridge. Admire views of the vast Pacific and the rugged coastline before hotel drop-off.

Redwoods & Wine Country Escape with Gourmet Food & Wine Pairing upgrade: Discover Muir Woods National Monument, Sonoma & Napa Valley in 1 Day and enjoy an exclusive three-course gourmet meal and wine pairing. (Lunch for children not included in the rate and needs to get paid at the restaurant).

NOTE: Tastings are usually held at Kieu Hoang Winery, Muscardini Cellars and Mayo Family Winery, but locations are subject to change, depending on availability.

Excellent Tour w/an Excellent Guide - Kimmy

I thoroughly enjoyed myself on this tour. Our tour guide, Kimmy was an added perk. She was funny and very knowledgeable, which made the experience more enjoyable. The wineries were great, especially Mayo (our last stop). I opted to include the gourmet lunch and was a bit skeptical - I was hoping it would not be a boxed lunch. To my surprise, it was exceptional. Well worth the additional cost!!

Our tour guide, Kimmy, was awesome! She was super friendly, humorous & knowledgeable. She made the experience quite enjoyable by making sure we were all comfortable, had opportunity to experience each site/experience & even stepped in as photographer for a few of us! I would definitely recommend the tour, especially if she is the tour guide! P.S. Get the gourmet lunch! Def worth the extra $$$

Perfect day trip

Ben was a great tour guide who brought lots of energy to the trip. The Muir Woods are a must stop for any trip to the Bay Area. The wine tasting was perfect for some wine novices like us. The best surprise of the trip was the lovely Sonoma downtown where you got to explore the shops and grab a quick bite. The views were amazing in Napa and loved the education from the Mayo winery. We even got to stop for a photo of the overlook for the Golden Gate Bridge. All in all an easy and worthwhile way to visit Napa while in San Francisco

Great Trip! Be prepared for a long, wonderful day!

Our driver, Ramon, was very funny and personable! Muir Woods was so tranquil at the early time that this tour arrives and I found myself alone on spots of the trails, despite the holiday weekend. Then, we continued on to wine country. The Sonoma wine stop had great wines, the Napa site was beautiful (although my least fav wines) and Trek, the urban winery, had but great wines, lots of tastings and a wonderful natural vibe! This is a great way to enjoy your wine and not worry about driving. The bonus stop for views of the Golden Gate was an unexpected surprise. The tour said 8 hrs, but I was picked up at 7:45 and back around the same time PM. Roman definitely didn't rush our tasting experience, which I really appreciated... just something to be aware of in regards to evening plans!
