Would not call it a tour.

I don’t know if I would call the experience a tour. We had a nice vehicle. We did get to go several places and got to stop for pictures, but past tours I have taken with Viator have meant a guide with personality and who is engaging about the area they live. Also learning about the city and some historical facts would have been nice. Our driver did not introduce himself I had to ask his name. Beside basic directions at the stops he barely spoke unless asked a question. I would have said this was nice transportation with picture stops not a tour. Not the usual quality I have come to expect from Viator. One final thing. i felt forced to pay a full 20% tip since that was stated before I was charged. I find that very surprising to expect that, before service was provided. I did not feel this was worthy of a superior tip. That did not sit well.

We are sorry to hear that you had a less than perfect experience, however we provide transportation service not a full guided tour service that requires a personal guide. We state this very clearly online and during reservation process over the phone. Our drivers are instructed to interact with clients only if client initiates a conversation. In this particular case you seem to have a conversation with other passengers and our driver did not want do interfere. Note about gratuity: it is mentioned online and confirmed over the phone that this is the case so it should not be surprising. It is also worth noting that we made an exception for you. Our tour starts at San Francisco City, we, however, picked you up at the airport with complimentary wait time of 40 minutes at no charge. Over all you are correct we offer custom transportation service with photo opportunities, we guarantee privacy and security and, yes, we do not offer a fully guided tour. Thank you for your business.
