The tour guide Maurizio was excellent. He had a real passion for food and it was passed on effectively to us. He also has an amazing connecting power which made us feel at home. His ability to give that freedom to us enabled us to enjoy the food tour. His suggestion for take away food was great and the fod items have been well liked by our friends. The three hour tour helped us to find a great Italian friend. Thanks Maurizio.

We misunderstood that we weren’t being picked up then rushed to the meeting spot. Guide left. Phone # didn’t work because we didn’t know + means add two 0s. By the time we reached guide 28 minutes later he refused to come back even though he was only 10 mins away. Very disappointed. Why didn’t he call us to see what happened?????? He was very confrontational on the phone Not impressed ....

Food first

Knowing how much food plays a part in this culture we wish we’d done the food tour first. Our guide offered perspective and suggestions to further enhance our visit sadly, we left Rome shortly after our tour. My suggestion would be if you’re new to Rome do a local food tour first ☺️

To us - this is a must do. This was the first tour we did when we arrived so we would know what to look out for while dining for the week. Our guide - Gabriele - was amazing. If all guides are like him, Rome will be our best trip ever. This is not just a food tasting tour. You learn a lot of history as well while walking from place to place. Do bring some water with you unless you want to buy at each location are stuffing yourselves. Would highly, highly recommend!!!!
