The hike was incredible! Johnny has an amazing eye for finding the wild life and led us to some of the coolest views. Just some of the things he found for us included: a sleeping Tuscan, a sleeping howler monkey, a baby viper and an endangered frog! Thank you Johnny for an amazing evening!

We had such a great time! The tour guide was so personable and passionate about the flora and fauna. We thought it would be scary to walk in the forest at night but we felt very safe. We definitely recommend, we saw so many animals and took the best pictures! It was such an amazing experience!

Amazing Experience, Highly Recommend

Johnny was very flexible and accommodating. We showed up super early, and he gave us an awesome restaurant recommendation. Our guide was entertaining and really know what he was doing and where he was going. We saw many types of insects and animals. If you are student or learning Spanish, we booked the tour in Spanish but he would explain things in English if we didn’t understand. We ended up actually doing the later tour, which he recommended.

Johnny was a great guide! He went above and beyond to show us everything we wanted and more! We would highly encourage anyone to take Johnny's tour! Just a note: you'll need to pay the entrance for the park. It was $8.

Wonderful Walk in the Woods!

Johnny is hilarious. He makes nature walks through the rain super fun! This was a highlight of the trip between the creative narratives, local history, and adventurous scouting. We had many wildlife sightings and learned about the plant life too. We saw a viper, kinkajou, armadillo, red eyed frog and sleeping hummingbirds even on a cloudy rainy night. We felt very safe exploring the woods with him. He clearly has a passion for his profession which made the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Family Fun Great & Tour Guide. Worth the money.

Family of 6 from 12 years to 60 went on the tour together. Everyone had a great time. Worth the money spent. Tour guide was knowledgeable on where to find the animals. We saw snakes, hummingbirds, ants, bugs, sloths and a few others. The guide was great at being polite and also educated the group while keeping everyone safe from the dark trails. Worth every penny would highly recommend.

A fun night in the forest

Our guide was great. He picked us up at the hotel and took us to the night walk location. He brought flashlights and a spotting scope to see the nightlife. He was knowledgeable and passionate about the tour and the animals we saw. The walking was fairly easily and we saw a lot of different animals. If you have your mind set on seeing just one species this may not be for you.

Fun!

Johnny is articulate and knowledgeable about the cloud forest. He was a fun guide and tried very hard to help us see a sloth. We didn't find one, but we did see many other exciting jungle creatures, including a couple tarantulas, 2 green sidewinder pit vipers, several frogs, a large walking stick, and other interesting insects. He provided us with flashlights for the nocturnal walk (although the battery in mine was low and light was very weak so switched to using my phone light). It seems like meeting at 8 om would be too early for a night-time walk, but it was dark in Monteverde by 6:30 pm!
