Your day tour starts in the town of Pompeii, where you meet your private guide and head to Scavi di Pompei, the UNESCO World Heritage–listed ruins of the ancient Roman city that was covered in volcanic ash after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79.
With your guide, walk through the archaeological site to see the remains of houses, baths, the forum, the red-light district, theaters, and more. Then continue your tour to Herculaneum, another Roman town destroyed by the eruption, larger and wealthier than Pompeii. During your time here, admire the more luxurious details in the homes and the mosaics and frescoes in the baths, and see the wooden ceilings burned by lava.
Then head to your last destination, the Oplonti Villa di Poppea Ruins, located in the town of Torre Annunziata, also part of Vesuvius' destruction. Explore the ruins of the villa, named after the wife of Emperor Nero. Tour the main rooms and gardens with your guide to see marble sculptures and the colonnade.
