Returns to original departure point
Following early morning pickup from central Paris, board an air-conditioned coach and get comfortable for the ride to the Loire Valley. On the journey, get to know your guide and small group of 25 other passengers.

Stop first at Château de Chambord, built in 1519 and used as a hunting lodge by King Francis I. Take a tour of the castle at your own rhythm to see its ornate French Renaissance architecture and dramatic staircases. Keep an eye out for the wild boar and deer that call the verdant castle grounds home.

At Château de Nitray, sit down for a gourmet lunch at Nitray Vineyards. Enjoy a meal made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and enjoy unlimited wine with your meal. Listen as your guide talks you through the tasting notes for each wine, then end your visit with a post-prandial stroll through the vineyards.

Continue to Château de Chenonceau, for a brief guided tour. Pass original stone carvings dating from the castle's construction in the 16th century, luxe tapestries and pause in the cozy chapel. Then enjoy free time to walk through the immaculate gardens before boarding the coach for the return trip to Paris.

Your full-day Loire Valley adventure ends with drop-off back at your original departure point.
Stop At:
Chateau de Chambord
From Paris, you’ll head first to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Chateau de Nitray
A guided wine tasting and traditional three-course meal await you at Château de Nitray. The family that owns this charming 15th-century castle will proudly present their wines and rural French dishes, before granting you the freedom of the estate for a while. The meal includes unlimited wine, but don’t over-indulge: you’ll want your senses sharp for the sights to come.
Duration: 2 hours
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Chateau de Chenonceau
Last but not least is a visit to the elegant Château de Chenonceau. The chapel, bedrooms and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings. Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici – two of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname ‘the Ladies’ Château’. After a guided tour, you’ll have a choice: continue exploring, or indulge in a second wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar. Three uniquely beautiful castles, good food and wine, all amid the scenery of the Loire Valley: this tour is a feast for the senses.

Definitely worth the day trip.
, Mar 2020
My girlfriend and I wanted to book a day trip from Paris to visit some of the famous Chateaus in the Loire River Valley. This tour was exactly what we hand in mind. Our guide, Adeola, was very knowledgeable and entertaining with the stories of the chateaus and history overall, but gave flexibility for folks to enjoy things at their own pace. Would definitely recommend.
Great tour!

Adie from City Wonders Paris did an excellent job as our guide! She did a great job keeping the bus rides to and from our stops entertaining with stories about the history of France and the people who once lived in the Chateaus. Each of the three stops were great, lunch at the second stop was delicious, and there was plenty of wine available.
Amazing tour! Go for the lunch and Chateau de Nitray!!
, Feb 2020
This tour is absolutely fantastic and worth every penny!! John and Addy, our tour guides, were absolutely phenomenal! They were very knowledgeable, engaging, and fun! The best part of the tour was lunch at Chateau de Nitray. The food was beyond excellent (and the wine plenty and strong!) and the owner of the castle was an absolutely joy. If you’re interested in buying wine in France, I recommend buying some here. I got 6 bottles for 41 euros. I cannot say enough good things about this tour!
Great daytrip for Couples
, Jan 2020
My partner and I had a great time on the castle/wine tour. Our tour visited the impressive Chambord and Chenonceau castles while stopping for lunch and wine tasting at a lovely family owned castle in-between. Plenty of wine to be had through the trip and the food was lovely. We had Michelle as our tour guide and she was great! Super knowledgeable about French history and told us many interesting stories about the region. She also spent time after the tour answering everyones general questions about Paris. So helpful!
A Great Day in the Loire

Fantastic tour of the Loire chateaux and superb lunch at chateau Nitray winery. Thank you Paris City Wonders for a great day. And our guide, Michelle, was wonderful. Couldn't recommend this tour highly enough. Do yourself a favour when you are Paris and book this tour.

Good experience, lots of history
, Dec 2019
Overall we enjoyed the tour, however, we got a little lost trying to get to the pick-up point and were scolded when we arrived late. Thank goodness the bus driver saw us! One of the tour guides took advantage of the wine tasting too much. I enjoyed the history lessons.

Poor use of Time, Extremely Rushed, Lunch was so-so
, Nov 2019
We booked this excursion as it went to 3 destinations and included lunch and wine tasting which we were excited about. The tour guides were both very kind and informative. Our first visit was to Chambord Castle which was very pretty and very enjoyable but didn't need much time here as the castle is mostly empty of any furnishings. The second stop was to Nitray which is where we had our lunch and first wine tasting. It was nice and the outside was beautiful. You don't actually go into the structures as they are lived in by the family who own/run the winery. The wine was so-so and the food was ok. During lunch, we were asked to bus/clean our own tables during the lunch and get our own food which seemed a bit strange for other experiences we have had with European hospitality. We spent far too much time at this stop (which felt more like a sales pitch) that by the time we got to the largest and most in depth castle (Chenonceaux) we literally had 45 minutes to go through a massive and beautiful castle, view the gardens and labyrinth and do the second wine tasting. We were so stressed out and irritated that we did not get to enjoy the castle at all. My personal recommendation would be to either eliminate Nitray or find a closer location to Chenenceaux. For the high price I feel like we overpaid considerably.

Great, even in the rain
, Nov 2019
My husband and I did this tour at the end of October. It rained pretty much all day which was a bummer, but what can you do. We went to Chambord, then lunch and wine at Chateau de Nitray, then Chenonceaux, where there was another wine tasting before entering the Chateau. I will say that there was a LOT of driving on this tour. With evening rush hour traffic, it took us 3.5 hours to get back to Paris. When we arrived at both chateaus, we had free time the whole time to explore.
