Yummy and fun!

Eren was our chef and she took us to the market to sample some of the food and spices around. We were particularly interested in molé and she found a local vendor who produced the most amazing molé based on their family recipe. We then took our produce back and made some amazing tamale's and tostados. Fun times and highly recommend.
It was fun and...

I loved the visit to the local Mercado! It was great picking up greasy vegetables and meats for our soon to be prepared meals. Eduardo was an excellent host and chef! Highly recommended. We also went the extra steps to learn authentic cocktails!
So much fun and a great way to learn more about Mexican culture through food

We had a pre-Hispanic cooking experience with Erin and we loved it! She made sure to get the whole group involved by giving us a chance to prepare different parts of the meal. She also chatted with us and gave us a chance to share our experience as we tried each course.
We learned a lot about the ingredients through the market tour and through Erin’s own stories and knowledge.
It was great to have a chance to try food we wouldn’t have ordered ourselves at a restaurant because we wouldn’t know what it was. Everything was so tasty. My favourite was the mole and sweet tamales.
If you don't do this, you are missing out on the experience of a lifetime!

Let's just say we wanted to take Eduardo home with us! From the market visit to the prep and cooking and finally the eating, it was an amazing time and overall wonderful experience. Going to the market was so cool and learning how locals' shop was great. I really love how they incorporated the shopping with your class... you go buy food, then you go back and cook. Eduardo is smart, entertaining, and just a kick ass chef! Best food I have ever eaten, and I am now suffering since coming back to the states.
Our class did start off a little rocky with some "bad Americans," thankfully they left, and it allowed my friend and I to enjoy the class completely. My advice to those traveling abroad, please be respectful of the country you are visiting and enjoy the experience. And under no circumstances be rude, talk about someone's language, or wear flip-flops when the class clearly instructed that you would be walking to the market.
Go, run, don't walk and sign up for this cooking class!
Fantastic Experience! Just WOW!

This was a very memorable and unique experience and to top it off, the food cooked was absolutely mindblowing. Eduardo (our chef) was amazing, and took us through a local market where we picked up ingredients unique to mexican cuisine. We took the vegetarian course (and did not know what to expect) and it was simply way more than rice and beans. The entire menu is well thought out and again, taste wise it was simply out of this world. Outside we would pay top dollar for this kind of menu!

Eduardo was fun, enthusiastic, and welcoming. We started at the market to pick out the food. He suggested some juices and appetizers for us to get while he finished shopping. We did not know that the mercanto wouldn't accept US $ so it would have been nice to know in advance. He was engaging, instructive and made it a very fun experience. The recipes were quite intricate so I don't see that I will duplicate them at home but the food was delicious and the overall experience absolutely fantastic.
Cook, learn, enjoy!

We took the Mexican Street Food with Chef Eduardo Landa. The class incorporated a tour of a nearby market, which was highly enjoyable, and a great learning experience. This was followed with the instruction given by Chef Landa in a charming Mexican kitchen, and detailed instructions which produced a perfect pairing of street food meets fine dining experience. We can't say enough positive adjectives about this experience and the fun we had!!!! Exceeded expectations, and highly recommended!!!

We loved this cooking experience with Eduardo - he was so knowledgeable about the food we made together. He gave helpful tips and feedback as we cooked together. Plus the food was all extremely delicious. We made this soup that was unlike anything I’ve had. I could not recommend this experience enough. The market tour was really interesting we got to pick the produce together. At the end of the class, Eduardo gave us good tips and ideas for the rest of our time in Mexico!
Fantastic experience!

Fantastic food, great instruction in Mexican fine dining

I've started to sign up for local cooking classes when I travel a few years ago, and I have to say that Eduardo and Gael at Mexican Food Tours have been my favorite instructors. Eduardo has a deep pedigree in fine dining but has adapted very well to working with amateur cooks. Gael is always on hand to help out as well.
The class started with a visit to the local food market, where Eduardo seemed to know everyone. He provided some helpful instruction on how to choose ingredients, and made sure we tasted and smelled the ones that would be unusual to US and Canadian residents. After getting the supplies, we returned to the apartment where the class is held and worked on putting the meal together. Eduardo assigned individual tasks, but also made sure that we all had a chance to try to do some of the most important tasks for Mexican dining. A word of warning: making a tortilla is a lot harder than it looks, and Eduardo will not let you ear until you make a perfect tortilla.
Speaking of eating: the food was exceptional, and a lot of that is because of the behind the scenes help that Eduardo and Gael provided. This ended up being a foodie weekend for me -- including the tacos omakase at Pujol -- but my favorite thing that I ate during my entire trip was the huitlacoche, tomato, and zucchini blossom tacos we made in class.
I would definitely go back for another class.
A deliciously fantastic cooking experience!

Chef Eduardo Landa was great! Had a blast cooking with him and his sous chef, and learning a lot about Mexican cooking along the way. We made three delicious courses: tacos, soup ,and chicken mole. Also, I learned how to make perfect tortillas -- something I have failed many times on my own. Thank you Chef!

My boyfriend and I make it a point to take cooking classes in every city we visit, and now they all have to live up to this one! Chef Eduardo is a rock star - he was funny, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and he taught us new cooking skills and >>a lot<< about Mexican cuisine. We took this class a week ago, and we're still raving about how much we loved it. Do it!
Top-notch, world class talent

We absolutely loved the experience. Our chef/guide Eduardo was charismatic and adjusted his routine to our skill level. The market trip was full of tips/tricks for choosing produce wisely. Once back in the kitchen, the tips continued and techniques explored/explained. I’m impressed with the whole evening… Can’t wait to do it all again!
