This place is absolutely breathtaking. We went on a Friday and it was not super crowded. However, I would recommend going Monday-Thursday to avoid the crowds. Elias our driver and tour guide was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy!
The best day trip!!!!!!!!
, May 2022
The tour guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a 4 hour ride to the location, but it’s worth the ride. You stop for breakfast/bathroom and a mini-shop (for water shoes, hats, water proof phone cases, etc) on the way there. There are cenotes, water caves, hot springs, rivers, and a beautiful bridge all surrounded by beautiful mountains. Everyone in the park was so friendly. The lunch was delicious!!!!! The ride back was beautiful. It was a wonderful day trip!
Best trip with the best your guide

The drive to get there and come back is long, but it’s absolutely worth it!!! The cave and the river were our favorite and Elias, our tour guide, was the best, he made sure our experience was better than we expected.
Beautiful trip, great tour guide

A beautiful and relaxing day trip that was worth every penny and hour of the drive. Our tour guide Elias was the best! He was so nice and so informative. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend Elias!
Unbelievable view

Elias was great! He was very knowledgeable. Had a great tour and time! I wish it was longer that you are there. But it is a tour next time I would stay the night. The lunch was tasty and overall a good day.
Worst tour operator EVER!
, Mar 2022
Ramon the tour operator is very unfriendly and he will steal your money and not provide the described services!!! On this selected tour we arrived at the pickup location at 714 am after informing him we were in route. (We were in fact delayed a few minutes due to family stomach issues). At the time of arrival he was already gone and would not return for us, since he mentioned already being on the highway. This was highly unlikely since the time was only a few minutes after. We took an uber to the location 4 hours away and attempted to still meet the group and at least benefit from the shuttle back (since he refused to refund the money). He was not willing to allow any of this! This is the absolute worst experience I have ever encountered with a tour guide. On another note tolantongo is beautiful. Use another tour guide and you will love the experience!

Better Than Instagram Photos

The long drive was worth it. The park did not disappoint. It was bigger than I expected- two sides to the park! The hot springs were warm/hot, the views were amazing, and the park was cleaner than I thought. Some tips for future travelers: bring pesos as other currencies/credit cards are not accepted and bring water shoes and an extra towel. The tour description says you will have time to grab a cup of coffee at the meeting point, Starbucks. This is not the case as Starbucks is not open at the pick up time. We did stop at a small cafe (coffee, pastries , and breakfast sandwiches were available) for a restroom break before heading out, but not sure if that was planned or if it was because I asked if we were stopping to grab breakfast. Other than that, sit tight & enjoy the ride!

Go to Grutas!
, Dec 2020
Aaron was awesome. He helped with multiple problems (luggage and lost cell phone) and he’s an amazing driver. The Grutas are amazing! Worth the trip!
