You’re taken directly to the restored archaeological ruins of Uxmal. Travel aboard a Mercedes Benz van with a driver-guide who assists you with purchasing your entrance ticket on arrival at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Then set off on your own to explore the Mayan city, situated in the Puuc region of the Yucatán. See ancient structures such as the Governor's Palace, Quadrangle of the Nuns, and Dove’s Temple. Marvel at the Pyramid of the Magician (aka Pyramid of the Soothsayer), and discover the geometrical figures and masks of the pre-Columbian rain god, Chaac.

Stay as long as you want and re-enter the site whenever you wish. Following your visit, you can purchase lunch at The Lodge at Uxmal (own expense). Located in the lush forest, it’s a short walk from the Uxmal archaeological zone. A booklet of discount coupons is also provided for resort restaurants and a spa treatment.

You'll have free time to relax on a lounge chair or dip into the swimming pool. Check out the Choco Story Museum to learn about the history of cocoa or visit the Hacienda Uxmal Plantation and Museum (admission fees are additional). This Viator Exclusive also provides you with unlimited access to an air-conditioned welcome suite, where you can freshen up with a shower and sip agua fresca.

A wonderful experience at a most...

A wonderful experience at a most fascinating ancient Mayan site. I did take a Mayan guide on the first part of my time at the site, a most knowledgeable guide who spoke English, sharing much fascinating information on the various aspects of these ancient Mayan ruins. I was left with ample time to explore the ruins on my own, pondering on the information the guide had given to me. This was followed by a tasty lunch, self serve from a wide variety of both Mexican and Western-style foods. Finally the visit to a most fascinating Choco museum where we learned how the Mayans made the chocolates, viewing an authentic Mayan ceremony, and sampling the produce!! Highly recommended for those of us like me who are interested in ancient Mayan culture.
