    Not Worth It

We were very disappointed with this trip. It was nothing like the description. We were picked up on time and excited to experience all that was described. One stop was a town not on the description. The driver told the 4 of us to stay in the van so he could see if the “candy factory” was open. This stop was the 4 of us awkwardly standing just past the front door of a small room for 5 minutes while the guide, Jesus, talked to the person in Spanish and translated as he could. We were offered a piece of candy to sample and left only seeing an empty front room with some boxes of candy stacked on a table. Another town was a 3 minute drive the small town and an opportunity to spend $25-$30 US to see a dancing horse. We did go yo the Tequila factory which was about the only thing that was worth seeing. We didn’t go to El Quelite or La Vintanta. In La Noria, the guide said it is here we would stop for lunch. As he drove around the town he stopped in front of a church to describe it’s significance and then, after 5 minutes, started to drive out of town and back to Mazatlan to drop us off at our hotel. This was a little less than 3 hours into our trip. When we asked about lunch, he said the other couple said they didn’t want to stop for lunch. He never asked us. We didn’t go to the 3 towns as described and this wasn’t anywhere near a 6 hour trip. Not worth the time or money.

Great tour for the tequila enthusiast. There is opportunities to get drunk (3 shots are free and about 30 pesos for each additional thing you want to taste.) You can also buy by the bottle.

Fun and informative guide. Comfy and cool van. Charming town (Noria) with a very talented dancing horse and show-off roosters. Modern tequila factory with amazing tequila to taste. Excellent soft taco lunch. A super nice tour to places you'd never find without a guide!

Luis was an excellent tour guide! He did an awesome job describing the tequila making process. Loved going through the towns to see them and lunch was excellent in La Noria! Loved the shops.

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this tour. Carlos was our tour guide and was friendly and answered our questions and was professional. The tequila factory was interesting although we toured on a day when they weren't actually making the tequila which was a little disappointing. Tasting the tequilas was fun. I would not recommend this tour because one of the stops is to see a "dancing horse". I didn't watch the performance because I was quite upset by the poor conditions in which the horses were living and didn't want to support this type of treatment of animals. This tour would be so much better if they replaced the "dancing horse" stop with another one that did not involve animals.

Our tour guide Eduardo Sanchez was amazing, he explained everything we were seeing along the way to the tequila distillery and stopped a few times for us to see additional interesting things. He was very knowledgeable about both the distillery and the Mazatlán area in general, we recommend him highly.

The description certainly fit the experience! Juan Jose was a fantastic tour guide. Started out visiting some pretty vistas. The the Tequila distillery. I don’t really like tequila but I ended up buying a bottle of coconut flavor that was really good! Next a stop for lunch at a very quaint little town and had a very authentic lunch of fajitas. Legend off to a small farm to see some horses who were taught to dance! Finally stopped in Mazatlan for a little shopping. Really enjoyable day.

My husband and I learned there are quite a few steps to making tequila. It was wonderful to see the land and learn about the process which has been modernized over many years, but still requires a lot of work. So great to taste the outcome at the end of the tour. Also wonderful tour of Noria…very friendly people, beautiful church, detailed work of craftsmen at the sandel and adjacent jewelry shops. Delicious lunch at El Auerliano’s Restaurant and Hotel. Many thanks to our guide, Lizzeth for showing the area, translating, providing history and background. We want to go back and We’ll be sure to recommend this tour to friends.

    Unique & Special Experience -- 10/10 recommend!!

Jorge was an amazing tour guide! We did not know what to expect when we signed up for this tour, but expected a little bit more tequila to be involved haha; however, we were PLEASANTLY surprised with the quality of this tour. We got to tour a small candy factory, see the 2nd largest rooster farm in Mexico, tour the tequila factory, and we were able to stop by a farm where they train dancing horses!! We even got to feed the horses a treat and ride them around the farm. The lunch was fantastic (I am a Celiac and it was safe for me -- they take you to a restaurant in town and allow you to choose any meal you like!). ABSOLUTELY 10/10 recommend this experience -- you will not regret it. We have recommended it to all of our friends and family! Some of our family has been coming to Mazatlan for over 15 years and they have never done this tour. They are planning to book this on their next trip!
