Fun way to finish off a day in Maui
Gina_P
, Jul 2021
As a few others have pointed out, calling this a luau is perhaps a little misleading. But that is my only criticism. This was really fun with two teenagers and a really beautiful way to take in the sunset. The entertainment was lovely, the food was delicious and the scenery was, of course, perfection. We had a great time. I really enjoyed the couple who danced and shared about their family, traditions, etc. They were just warm and welcoming souls.

The food was very good! The atmosphere was nice and enjoyable. I was looking more for the luau experience but other than that it was nice.

Fun ride, friendly staff but the food was disappointing and needs a huge improvement. It was horrible..sorry! And maybe add some pasta, rice or bread too?

Fun but not exactly what was expected

Little different than expected (not really a luau cruise) but still had a very nice time. Food was good, staff was very friendly and views were great

Thank You for sharing. I suppose we could change the name to Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise with Authentic Polynesian Dance Entertainment, Music, delicious food and premium open bar. But, that’s quite a long title. As stated, you will not be disappointed, despite the title. Mahalo, Scott GEO

It was lovely, but limited for the price
Deloris_J

It was lovely but limited for the price. The cruise was shorter than I expected. The food was ok, especially the cheese cake, but the selection was limited. I wanted the luau to be more, but there were only 2 dancers, which were also the crew. All in all, it was a lovely short trip, but not worth 179.00 bucks. It would be better to go to an actual luau.

Thank You for sharing. Yes, indeed it is important to identify what it is you are looking for. There are many of the high volume, big stage, large venue, resort style luaus to choose from, on land. What we offer, is a much different experience. You will experience authentic Polynesian dance performed by Kimo and Maka, who have danced since childhood, a tradition which has been handed down to their keiki (children). This is an Ohana (family), where Polynesian dance is a part of who they are. We do not push the volume and energy through stacks of big speakers on a lighted stage. Maka and Kimo do however share their genuine Aloha Spirit through music and some of the most inspiring hula and dance you will experience. They have been dancing together many, many years, which is apparent from the moment they begin performing. Maka even makes their costumes and accessories, just as local families have done for years. Ours is not the "in your face" high voltage luau so popular with mainstream visitors. What we offer is a truly unique evening of authentic Polynesian dance, in an intimate setting aboard our comfortable, spacious and stable yacht, enjoying delicious food and a premium open bar, with unsurpassed views of the majestic Maui coast. The views looking back at the island are much different than being on shore. Our sprawling observation deck offers unobstructed, panoramic views and photo opportunities of the beautiful Hawaiian Sunset. Upon boarding, while waiting to be served dinner, enjoy appetizers which include Maui Onion tartlets, and assorted cheeses, served with artisan crackers. Upon departing the harbor, the premium bar opens, where we offer four wines from Napa (two reds and two white), ice cold Maui Brewing Company micro brewed beers, and a premium full bar, featuring nice labels of your favorite spirits. We stock the bar with something nice for everyone, with names like Makers Mark and Jim Beam bourbon, Ocean, Kettle One or Belvedere vodka, Castillo Puerto Rican and Kai toasted coconut rums. We serve Crown Royal, blended whiskey, Chivas and Glenlivet 12 year scotch, Cuervo and Tres Generaciones Tequilas, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire gin. Ours is a premium open bar. We take the same approach to the comfort food we prepare in our own commercial kitchen, minutes from the boat. For dinner, we serve fall off the bone, baby back ribs, and oven roasted chicken, marinated overnight in Chef Tania's wonderful pineapple infused garlic, ginger sauce. Entrees are served with fresh roasted vegetables, and for dessert, a heavenly Lilikoi, Mango cheese cake. This definitely is not you average garden variety luau and for those who want to feel the loud drums and excitement of a land based luau, we get it. In fact, we created this unique opportunity for those who want to feel like you are part of something special which presents the art of Polynesian dancing in a more local and intimate setting. Our prices reflect the exceptional quality of our spacious yacht, smaller groups we serve, freshly prepared chef inspired food, premium open bar, expert and genuine Live Polynesian dance, expert Captains and crew. Yes, Maka and Kimo are also professional waterman and woman and in addition to sharing their culture with our guests through music and dance, they mingle and serve you at between performances. It’s a special experience if your looking for or open to it. Mahalo, Nui Loa, Scott Turner CEO

Aloha and Thank You for appreciating the uniqueness of our Maui Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise. As I stated to another guest who joined us, Maka and Kimo share their genuine Aloha Spirit through music and some of the most inspiring hula and dance you will experience. Thank You so much for recognizing our efforts to provide a quality and unique experience, where our guests feel the genuine Aloha and experience just a little taste of local Polynesian dance culture. Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa for joining our Ohana and sharing a beautiful Maui sunset out on the open ocean. Maka and Kimo are a very special couple who’ve been part of our team many years. Their Polynesian dance and true Aloha of our entire team is very special indeed. The Maui Sunset Luau Cruise was created to provide guests with an opportunity to enjoy the offshore views of our beautiful island, aboard our comfortable and spacious yacht, enjoying delicious food, premium bar, and unsurpassed service in an intimate setting, I’m always pleased when our guests appreciate our truly unique dinner experience.
