Depart central London by air-conditioned coach and venture into the English countryside. As you travel, hear interesting facts about the region and your first destination — the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain.

On arrival, enjoy time to explore this atmospheric site at leisure. Head inside, collect an informative audio guide, and ride the shuttle or follow the pathways to the UNESCO-listed stones that date back some 4,500 years.

Marvel at the gigantic stones and ponder how they were transported and raised here. Then, learn how and why Stonehenge was built — most scholars believe it formed a temple aligned to the sun — through the archaeological exhibitions and audiovisual experiences at the visitor center.
Next, continue west to the 18th-century city of Bath. All honey-stoned townhouses, terraces and bridges, this UNESCO-listed city is one of England’s crowning glories.

Enjoy the afternoon to explore this delightful city independently. Perhaps delve into the handsome streets to admire the Georgian architecture, seeing top Bath attractions such the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge that spans the Avon River.

Alternatively, upgrade to visit the Roman Baths, one of the world’s best-preserved sets of Roman remains. Explore the Great Bath and museum, and discover how the Romans built and expanded the complex over Baths’ natural springs from the 1st century AD.

Or, perhaps upgrade to visit the Jane Austen Visitor Centre. The much-loved English novelist lived in Bath in the early 1800s, and this fascinating museum chronicles her life and works through documents, artifacts and interactive experiences.

Lastly, return to London, where your tour ends with a drop-off near Victoria rail station.

A delightful experience

I would have enjoyed up to an additional hour in both locations, but I realize the distance and length of day makes that likely impossible from London. The guide was funny and informative making and made it an overall delightful day!

What a wonderful tour it was! I had enough time to enjoy both Stonehenge and Bath. Our guide Lucy was very helpful and friendly. She knew the exact locations where we could take great pictures. Great value for money.

Wonderful to greet the great standing circle of stones at last, in the gentle rain of Salisbury Plain. Derek (guide) & Ichy (driver) were outstanding.

Being in Stonehenge was breathtaking! Bath, I wish we had more time to visit! Unfortunately, I missed my Bath Museum which I paid for, however, I will have to visit Bath again!

The guide was very knowledgable and responsible. The gentleman made sure everyone is happy and offered free walk tour in the town of Bath. The time is well-arranged and you won't feel in a rush or anything like that.

Interesting Tour of Stonehenge and Bath

The coaches that Viator uses are very comfortable, double-decker vehicles, so everyone has a great view of the city or countryside. We drove to Stonehenge first and it was rather chilly, so if the weather report indicates the temps will be 50 degrees Fahrenheit, dress warmly! It's windy at Stonehenge. The museum there is well done, with houses that are replicas of ones that the people who built Stonehenge might have inhabited. Our guide Eugene was excellent and explained that the whole 30-mile area, which is called the Ansbury Circle, is like a large puzzle for archaeologists. I thought it was interesting to learn that the mounds one could see in the distance were burial sites, but one of the signs in the museum indicated that only men were buried in the mounds. So what did they do with the women when they died?!? Bath was a lovely city and the sun broke out from behind the clouds to shed beautiful light on our excursion. The tour of the baths was interesting. The site is well-preserved, but the use of holograms to see how the Romans and Brits used the baths helped the place "come alive". We had adequate free time to explore the city, shop, and get a bite to eat, before joining the coach for the ride back to London.

Worth the tour!

Ben the tour guide, and Andre the driver were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and funny. There was plenty of time to tour Stonehenge and the visitor area, as well as Bath afterwards. Ben also gave a tour of Bath which was optional, but well worth it. I'd definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was relaxing and fun - just as what we expected. Our travel guide (Ben) was very friendly, accommodating and informative. Throughout the day, he was not boring. Super chill & cool - but full of life and jokes all day from start to finish. Our driver (Andre) was also very smiling & friendly. Thank you for driving us safely.

We did this tour and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was well paced, didn't feel like a whistle stop experience. Ben our tour guide was very informative and helpful, shared many useful tips and his banter was refreshing ( his English sence of humor as well). Walking tour of Bath was also an added bonus

A lovely tour! Nick was a wonderful guide and the time dedicated to stonehenge and bath was very well balanced (about an hour for stonehenge, 3 for bath). I did not book the museum/roman bath extra, so I had enough time to really enjoy walking around bath!

Stonehenge and Bath
Paul_B
, May 2022
The Roman Baths were great. I could have easily spent another hour there. Wished we had more time for them. In fact the trip should be available to do just Bath and not Stonehenge so one could see some of the city too. Too much time was spent at Stonehenge. It is not particularly beneficial to have the guide speaking off the bus to a group of 65 people as it is too loud and hard to hear. It’s also hard to hear when there is a baby screaming right behind you. Shouldn’t there be an age limit when you know the baby is going to cry - it’s how they communicate but it is not particularly fair to those paying a lot of money to hear about the history of the place.

Very nice day trip for grownups

Seeing Stonehenge was impresive . Bath is a very nice small town . Traveling through the english country, small towns and villiges was very nice and interesting. The coach travel was long so I would not recommend it for famliys with small kids and people who can't spend a lot of time sitting down. Also some teenagers might not find this trip interesting.

Nice tour but uncomfortable bus and too many people
William_H
, May 2022
The tour locations are great. The tour guide gave great information as we were approaching both Bath and Stonehenge. Realistically though, there are tens or even hundreds on tours going to these same locations. So the big differences will be comfort and number of people. The bus was definitely not comfortable. And the tour had far too many people on it (full double decker bus).
