Make your way to The O2, located near the North Greenwich Station tube stop, and find the Up the O2 Basecamp.

Meet your experienced climbing guide and group of fellow thrill seekers. Listen to a safety briefing and orientation to the 170-foot (52-meter) structure that is home to a variety of restaurants and entertainment options, and is the world's busiest music venue. Get fitted for a climb suit, boots, harness, and latch.

After the briefing, latch into the safety system and begin the steep ascent, which reaches up to 30 degrees. Although I am scared of heights, everyone at UptheO2 reassured me and stayed by my side during the climb. I’ve definitely conquered my fear and am already planning to climb again so I can really take in the spectacular views. The knowledge of the people who work here is second to none. They are welcoming, informative and extremely funny.

This was one of the favorite things...

This was one of the favorite things we did according to my 17 year old son. He forced me 54 year old mom to go with, and I'm glad we shared this unique bonding experience. I was a little worried about the difficulty as I'm not in phenomenal shape but do try to stay fit. I think if the course had been twice as long as it was, it would then been quite difficult yet still do-able. As it is, it was a little tricky but fun - it was it was a nice challenge for the first day of the new year. The view was great although not that of typical London not London Eye, Big Ben, etc but a different part of the city. It gave a nice perspective of another part of London I wasn't aware of. Really fun, glad we did it, super friendly guide and staff. Something different than all the tours which were also cool that we partook in.
