Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Your boat tour takes you to three locations around Grand Cayman, the highlight of which is Stingray City, a section of water (no more than 5 feet / 1.5 meters deep) and sandbars home to a population of southern stingrays.

When you arrive, learn about the proper behavior when you're in the water from the boat crew, and then hop in with a provided snorkel and mask to swim near the stingrays. Next, head to the Coral Garden, a nearby location when you can swim among some of the Cayman Islands' most colorful reefs.

Your third stop is snorkeling with starfish, where you can relax in shallow water and look at different species of starfish. This is an especially popular activity for young kids.

Your tour ends with return to the starting point.

Worst Boat Ride
Unsatisfied_Guest

We booked this tour after reading previous reviews which were all positive. This one is not! The tour was scheduled to leave at 9:15am. We didn’t leave until closer to 10am due to waiting on buses with more guests. The water was really choppy when we got to Stingray City. After 20 minutes of trying to park the boat, hitting 2 boats in the process and then having people get in unsafe waters, I was extremely disappointed. We went to the snorkel location, at which point so many people were feeling seasick, that the majority of the guests didn’t even snorkel. Including myself and my children. Our saving grace was the starfish beach, but due to the waste of time in the beginning of the trip, we were only there for a short time. I would not recommend this tour group. The captain and crew were oblivious to the safety of the guests on board.

Amazing interaction with Stinrays & more...

We were met at the cruise terminal and driven to the marina to board the boat. The journey out to the reef took about 30 minutes but was very pleasant. Once there we were in the water and our guide took us carefully through the handling of the stingrays, especially tips for their protection. There were lots of young and what appeaed to be adult rays. Amazing experience. The only tiny criticism was that we were only offer the masks at the snorkel site, not with the rays - I could have asked if I'd thought of it at the time. We then moved about 200 yards to the reef for snorkeling. There's an abundance of coral but it's not colourful like in Australia. The fish were gorgeous colours. Final stop was the starfish point, Again extra care was taken to advise us on handling the starfish for their pretection, something not followed by other groups where a mother twice removed one from the water to show her child. The journey back was very relaxing.

Good tour overall. Very prompt service. Good informative staff. Nice boat. The star fish portion was a little lame but really enjoyed the stingrays. Got to feed, hold and have the stingrays rub the back of our heads. Oh yea, got to kiss then too, lol. Saw about 4 little star fish. They're much bigger in the Pacific northwest.

We missed our trip and the company worked with us!

This company is no different than the rest. I also have heard this is the best excursion in Grand Cayman. The cruse ships ferry you off in tenders - there is no pier. You have to get a ticket for the tender the night before or early in the morning. I didn't know this. We were late getting off the boat and missed our scheduled trip. The company was great about putting us on a later trip at no charge although we didn't get to go to the starfish area. The stingray area was very crowded - over a 100 people and many boats in the water in the area the size of a football field. The guides catch giant (3') stingrays and you get to touch them. If you want to hold one and get your picture, they charge you (I think $20). My son caught one on his own and we took a free picture with my phone. In summary, it was an interesting experience but it was so crowded it wasn't my idea of a good excursion. I talked to others who said that there wasn't a lot to do Grand Cayman, so maybe it was the best of the available options.
