Fat Tire Tours - Florence
Meet your local guide in central Florence and begin your 3-hour gourmet tour of the city! Italians usually start their morning at a café with a strong cup of coffee, so follow your guide to a typical Italian coffee bar, where you can try two types of delicious coffee and learn about the local roasting process. Continue to an old delicatessen founded in 1885, where you’ll enjoy a panino tartufato, a delicate, truffle pâté sandwich made with the truffles for which the deli is famous. As you continue to your next food stop, listen as your guide illustrates the history of Florence’s most important squares where Florentines used to buy their food. Learn about typical local dishes and ingredients, but don’t expect detailed how to’s – Italians would never give away their secret family recipes! Christina was amazing!

We were delightfully surprised to see that we got extremely personalized attention during this tour. We felt like we were being toured through Florence by a friend. Our tour guide Christina, was unbelievably well-informed. She was truly a scholar of the city itself. Her knowledge of the sights and attractions made the tour that much more special. We were introduced to foods and restaurants that we wanted to go back to during the remainder of our stay in Florence, which speaks volumes. The tour also was great at familiarizing us with the layout of Florence, which while much smaller than Rome can be equally confusing to navigate on your own! Don't miss this tour.

This was a highlight of our visit to Florence. Guido was an amazing guide who brought both the city of Florence and the amazing food and wine of the city Alive. He is so passionate about the history and culture and this made the tour even more special. We visited and sampled the most amazing food and wine during the tour and it just kept on coming. So many off the beaten track places and we were fortunate to meet another wonderful couple from Brooklyn too who were also great foodies. We were In Total foodie heaven!
