Begin this Discover Scuba Diving experience at a centrally-located meeting point in Cancun that’s walking distance from many Zona Hotelera accommodations. Learn about the basics of equipment and safety during a dive theory session led by PADI-certified instructors, then suit up and enter the shallow end of a swimming pool in full diving gear.

Make your ocean dive at the Underwater Museum of Art, or MUSA, where more than 500 life-size sculptures are fixed to the seabed. Sculptures are made from coral-friendly materials, so the museum may interact with the natural world, and the artwork forms part of a complex reef structure.

Great 1st time Scuba diving experience!
, Jul 2021
Alex our guide was very thorough and made the educational part fun and easy, even giving the presentation in both English and Spanish! The entire staff was super great and took great care of us. The dive was amazing. We saw lobsters, crabs, coral, goatfish, stingrays, starfish and much much more. The underwater museum is spectacular and the fact that it is a National Park made it even more special for me personally. Every last detail of the experience was enjoyable, and care free. Many thanks to Alex our guide, Chicho our Captain and the entire staff! I strongly recommend diving with Scuba Caribe if are able. You will definitely enjoy the experience!

A great company and a great experience

I took my mom and boyfriend here since they had never been scuba diving. Out of everything we did during our trip here in Cancun, this scuba diving experience was by far the best. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our instructor was the best, his name was Martin. During our pool session he ensured we all had the basics of scuba diving down and that we felt comfortable. Once we were ready we got on the boat and went to the diving site. There was another couple doing the dive with us, they went with another instructor while the three of us went down with Martin. Martin did a great job with making us feel comfortable and constantly had his eye on us to ensure our safety. I’m glad we went with this tour over snorkeling or any other available tour. We were able to see marine life along with getting a close view of the statues.

I had dived before, but 2 daughters had not. Scuba is all about how comfortable you are in/under water. My daughters and myself had been on swim teams, completely comfortable in/under water. Our experience was completely positive. Instruction was appropriate and instructor (Agatha) was great. My daughters and I had great time and they want to be scuba instructors and dive every day. Would do again in heart beat.
Great SCUBA first time experience

We really enjoyed the training and SCUBA experience. It was an ideal day with calm seas and clear water. The trainer was excellent!
The highlight of our trip to Cancun!

An absolute incredible experience. If you're interested in scuba but don't know if you want to spend money on a certification, then take this. We're sold on becoming certified and doing this for the rest of our lives. Alex and his team were so fun and made us feel safe. We would have taken them up on the full certification course, but would not have enough time before flying home. Would recommend this to anyone who has ever considered wanting to scuba.

My first experience scuba diving, I felt very prepared and secure in going into the ocean with the training they give you . I did unfortunately get sea-sick, and didn't make it to the reef LOL, but other than that it the underwater museum was beautiful and from what my husband said the reef was very vibrant.

We were quite disappointed with the organization.I booked this activity as we really wanted to see the underwater museum so we said we would cancel it only in case of unexpected circumstances. We were staying in Playa del Carmen so we took a taxi on Wednesday morning 6:30 to get on time to Cancun at 8:00am where they would pick us up in the lobby of hotel RIU Caribe. At around 8:30 we started to be a little concerned because nobody came for us so we called them. They confirmed that they have our reservation and they dont know what happend so they will send someone to the lobby. The instructor from Scuba Caribe came and said that the activity was cancelled due to wind and rain, which was true but how should we know what are the perfect conditions exactly for diving. They should at least let us know that we are expecting rain so the activity is cancelled. We just wasted our money, time by waking up early on a holiday and spending 1,5h ride to Cancun and same back to Playa del Carmen. We moved the activity for Saturday and asked them to arrange a transfer for us because of their fault so the instructor called to his boss to manage this for us and he confirmed that we are going to have a pick up and drop off on Saturday. We should just double check on Friday evening if everything is in place. When we called them on Friday the phone nr didnt even work so the receptionist of our hotel called to a guy from Scuba Caribe in Playa del Carmen who of course didnt know what Im talking about so after I explained him everything he said he will call his boss and call us back asap. After an hour of waiting we called him again and he said that they can not arrange a transfer for us. After a while of complaining they agreed to pick us up on the way back to Playa del Carmen after the activity but not in the morning and that he recommends to take a taxi to be in Cancun on time.We didnt want to be even more concerned on our holiday so we left it go, but we were disappointed very much with the organization. The diving was great we saw what we wanted and the instructor was patient and showed us everything we needed so we felt very secure under the water.

This review is more about Scuba...

This review is more about Scuba Caribe at Riu Cancun than about the scuba experience itself. Our instructor Angel was very nice, knowledgeable and nice. We did the lesson in the pool successfully and were pretty excited to get in the ocean. However the waters were SUPER rough that day and I got sea sick on the way to the dive site, as did my fiance who because of that couldn't actually go through with the dive. The worst part was that we were stuck on this little boat swinging side to side for about 2 hours while everyone did the 2 tank dive. This ruined the whole thing for me. There was no option to go back to shore or even go to Isla Mujeres which was only a few minutes away. I would up sick and sunburnt. Now the reason I am giving 4 stars not 1 is because even though we weren't able to go scuba diving the staff was very apologetic and since we could not get a refund they offered us to do another activity of our choice. So we chose Jet Skiing instead, and 3 days later when the sunburn hurt less and everything settled we took the Scuba Caribe van over to Riu Caribe and took the Jet Skiis out for about 45 min instead of the standard 30. We ar very happy with out Scuba Caribe experience. Thanks to Angel and Miguel at Riu Cancun Scuba Caribe. I would recommend them without a second thought.
