Return Details

Returns to original departure point
The New England Aquarium is one of the premier visitor attractions in Boston with over 22,000 members and 1.3 million visitors each year.

Start on the front plaza, where a slice of New England rocky coast and 42,000 gallons of water are home to resident harbor seals. Look for a massive globe, featuring the oceans, continents, and animals that call this blue planet home.

Skip the lines and step inside that New England Aquarium with priority admission, where informative and entertaining live animal presentations happen every day, allowing visitors to see their favorite aquatic animals. Watch fur seals interact with their trainers. See turtles eat right from the hands of divers, including Myrtle, a 550-pound green sea turtle, who has been living at the Aquarium for more than 40 years.

“Sea” it all: sea turtles, sea stars, sea urchins, sea lions, and sea dragons, not to mention snails, hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, shorebirds, lobsters, goosefish, octopus, piranhas, anacondas, salmon, and many more.

Like penguins? The New England Aquarium’s penguin exhibit is home to more than 80 of them — African penguins, Northern and Southern rockhopper penguins, even little blue penguins.

Then there are tanks. The largest “tank” on the East Coast features more than 100 animals, including cownose rays, Atlantic Rays, and sharks, and the centerpiece exhibit, a cylindrical 200,000-gallon Giant Ocean Tank featuring turtles, sharks, eels, stingrays, tarpon and many more, including colorful tropical fishes.

Relax and experience an unforgettable movie, like Humpback Whales, Great White Shark or Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Secret Ocean.

Purchase a snack at the kid-friendly Harbor View Café or head to Faneuil Hall for a quick lunch — and don’t forget to grab a souvenir at the Aquarium Gift Shop before leaving.

Oversold legal capacity, contacting mayor

We purchased tickets for Saturday the 27th. I soent 2 days trying to make reservations but the line was busy so I tried leaving a message and did not get a call back, with no other option we drove the 2 hrs to get there only to be told that we had bought our tickets from a 3rd party that had no right to be selling tickets........they blamed you...and as politics go, I’m sure you’ll blame them. Tickets were oversold that day and I watched as several others beside myself and our grandchildren were turned away. This last year has been hard enough on the children to have had this experience on our first attempt to rejoin society was a big disappointment in how this entire mess has been handled from the beginning. As long as all the big conglomerates are still making their money, the actual people living here have no importance whatsoever. The customer service representative at the window was condescending and a smart mouth on top of the unpleasant experience. I was forced to try and return 2 weeks AFTER my purchase date

This was the worst thing ever. My advisor did not inform me about timings. Made me order my tickets but I did not get to see the show. I will never book with Viator again.

The Aquarium is outstanding, buying tickets through Viator nightmare! Don’t recommend Viator .

Viator I would advise that you send an additional email with all cap locks to customer’s stating that you must call the aquarium after buying the vouchers from Viator a third party! I was beyond “pissed off“ when I got the aquarium to realize this error in communication! I would not recommend Viator to friends or family!

During Covid you need an appointment to enter the new england aquarium And this third party purchaser doesn't offer that. So I had to cancel the 2 tickets I purchased on viator and repurchase the tickets at a later time through the aquariums sight again

So Disappointed

I was very disappointed, I took my family to Boston for day trip who came from Europe. We were not allowed to enter the aquarium because the tickets were not purchase from their website and they already reach the minimum capacity for the day. I already filed a claim asking for a refund, because of COVID-19 we are not planning to go back their anytime soon. Hopefully Viator will not give as any issues with that.

The New England Aquarium is always a great way to pass the time. I brought my friend here from Baltimore and she loved it. We made a small mistake of going on Columbus Day and it was raining...so EXTRA kids. We got to see penguins and watch them take a HUGE sea turtle out for her check-up with the vet! Overall, it was still a great time seeing the fishies.
