This self-guided tour of the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum ushers visitors through authentically restored tea ships and traditional Boston museum exhibits. This floating museum provides the opportunity to explore and learn about the people, events, and consequences that led up to the American Revolution—all in the order in which they occurred back in 1773. Get a sense of what life was like in 18th-century Boston.

At the Meeting House, hear the story of the night of December 16, 1773, and get ready to dump tea alongside the patriots. Explore two authentically restored tea ships—the Eleanor and the Beaver.

Inside the museum, see the Robinson Half Chest, one of only two original tea chests that was dumped into the Boston Harbor that night.

A great activity for young and old near the seaport of Boston

I was there with my 2 British Grandchildren and their parents. I thought it great to hear about history from the American point of view. The visual walking experience made it come "to life ". We live in Acton , and my husband I appreciated hearing the story from our Concord and Lexington connection. We also loved walking around the Seaport while we waited for the tour to start.

This was very interesting and I loved the passion shown by the players. The tour of the ship was interesting and throwing tea overboard.

Amazing interactive experience

Wonderfully done. Loved the videos and to experience the confined nature of the ship’d cargo and living quarters was eye opening and claustrophobic! I can’t imagine being on a ship like that, crossing an ocean.

Fantastic museum!

Our guide was great, the video was outstanding, but throwing the tea was the best! Our founding fathers (and mothers) had so much more courage than us!
