Visiting the Cité du Vin...
, Jun 2022
Visiting the Cité du Vin was an excellent experience. Lots of informative stuff about viticulture and wine making, and a nice sample at the end. Buying the entrance ticket through Viator? Complete waste of time. I had to email the receipt to the museum staff. Spent more time than if I'd just bought the tickets there.
Excellent wine museum. Very interactive

History of wine was the most interesting But a bit tedious to get through the whole thing. We bought tickets ahead on Viator. Not recommended

A unique experience in this city of wine!
, Mar 2022
The whole visit was memorable. We particularly enjoyed the exhibitions on the second floor. Being this history of wine, the tours around the wine estates of the world and all the famous people in history arguing the many merits of different wines. The view from the eighth floor was wonderful. It’s amazing how that previously very poor run-down area of Bordeaux is being redeveloped.

A fun afternoon

A very informative and interactive experience. We really enjoyed this. The museum was very quiet the day we were there, so we were able to take in all the interactive activities.

The most amazing experience ever. We spent 4 hours inside. It’s very interesting Museum. The museum provides Audio guide in different languages.
Skip the line took 45 minutes!
, Nov 2021
When we arrived at the Cite du Vin the person behind the desk asked me to email her my tickets, which was the only way we could get in. I found this a bit odd, but tried to email them, without luck. They said very rudely that this was the only way to get in. Twenty minutes later, after trying several different ways were were able to send the email from Viator to me to the operator. It doesn't make any sense. Every other tour we went on had tickets that were scannable. Then, we were pressed for time and went straight to the top for the wine tasting. The woman behind the desk said there wasn't a line, but when we got off the elevator, it was packed with people and many lines. I was not happy being in the venue with so many individuals packed inside. We waited another 20 minutes or so in line for our wine, which left only a half hour to walk around the museum. It turned out to be an expensive glass of wine with a very crowded view of the city.

Decor was beautiful

This was a very memorable tour. The decor in wine museum is all digital and was effortlessly beautiful. I would visit again!!
Hands on museum in Bordeaux

Wonderful museum to get a clear understanding of everything having to do with wine. Great to start out your visit to Bordeaux in preparation of vineyard visits or at end of your stay in the area to pull all of your knowledge together.
Good museum

Modern technology, Interesting museum, especially for beginners. You can spend 3-4 hours easily. Would recommend to a friend.
Interesting but buy your ticket there !
, Aug 2019
I pre paid for my fast track tickets as we did not have much time in Bordeaux. There was no queue and it took me much longer to get my tickets than people who just walked in. Very annoying. It was an interesting , hi tech venue , but a bit sparse and soulless.
Fun afternoon, so much information, but a fun day. Lovely wine at the top.
, Jun 2019
The building is amazing, the transport links to get there are easy, the view from the top with your glass of wine is different to the other views of the city. The museum itself is set out with audio tours which is helpful as you can walk around at your own pace. We had been to 2 other wine museums in Bordeaux by this point, and I think, if we went again, we would go here first. Very detailed information on the soil, climate, region, flavour and manufacturing. Sadly we missed the seminars that might have been more interesting, including the tastings, as it was March and they were not running them in English. If a tasting class or the sensory room had been open in English that might have made this into THE place to learn about wine. Would go back if visited Bordeaux again.
La Cité du Vin is a great experience...

La Cité du Vin is a great experience - fun and informative. But it turns out the time and date we went late afternoon on a Tuesday in July, the skip the line feature was unnecessary!

A great addition to...

A great addition to Bordeaux. Not terribly well organised once you are inside the exhibition - we were not sure which way to go a few times. Also a number of the exhibits end up with quite a queue waiting to use them. We spent 2.5 hours there and could have seen more if it had been clearer how you were meant to progress through the exhibition. By the time we got to some of the later exhibits - which might have been good - we were getting tired No long queue - even in late July - but good to know we would not have been held up if there had been.
No one in line so we couldn't skip...

No one in line so we couldn't skip! Very informative museum covering EVERY aspect of wine. free glass of wine was nice. Could use sitting areas on top floor where wine is tasted. Even high tops for standing would be nice. Interesting gift shop.
When we arrived, there was no line...
, May 2017
When we arrived, there was no line so I am not sure if the skip-the-line was needed but the overall experience was incredible! We ate a lovely lunch on the 7th floor, toured the permanent exhibit, wandered through the building, and enjoyed a tasting glass of wine. Excellent afternoon. My only suggestion is to book a table in the restaurant in advance. We were lucky as there were cancellations.
On achetant les billets...
, Apr 2022
On achetant les billets d’entrée coup-file par le site de Viator vous êtes obligé faire la queue et retirer les vrais billets à la caisse. Et c’est pris plus de temps que l’achat normal. Je ne vois pas des avantages 😟
