Meet your guide in Bordeaux city center to get a quick 10-minute introduction on using your Segway. Get outfitted with a helmet and climb aboard for a test run of this unique means of transport – 2-wheeled, battery-powered and self-balancing, it's like nothing you've ridden before. Lean in the direction you'd like to go, and the Segway takes you there. Once everyone is comfortable on their machines, the 1-hour tour of Bordeaux begins.

Listen as your guide provides historical context for the sights of Bordeaux, which is on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. Head for the Garonne River and ride along the ancient waterfront, lined with buildings and monuments that mark the passage of time in the city.

Ride to Place des Quinconces, one of Europe's largest public squares, and then to Place de la Comédie. Here, the imposing Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is the highlight, surrounded by places to shop and dine and simply relax.

Follow your guide along the main shopping street in Bordeaux, Rue Sainte-Catherine, and then to the Bordeaux Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-André de Bordeaux). It's here where the wedding between Eleanor of Aquitaine and the future King Louis VII took place in 1137. Take a break from riding the Segway to hear more about this significant place and snap some photographs.

The tour concludes back at the starting point after one hour.

We booked the one hour Segway tour in Bordeaux recently. We had never used Segways before. It started around 1:30 and we were given hairnets and helmets. Then we received about 15 minutes of training and orientation with the Segway before we set off. Note that several of our group were retirement age. Jasmin was our knowledgeable and charming guide. She did a great job of individually teaching us how to drive the Segway. We started off slowly with the speed limited, which was wise but we soon mastered the vehicles and easily worked our way through pedestrians and intersections. Jasmin knew lots of short cuts and quickly got us to each stop on our itinerary. Then, she proceeded to describe the attraction in both English and French! What a talented young lady. We were also able to take some great photos at each stop. After seeing many sights around town, we proceeded to the riverfront where Jasmin increased our speed a bit and after a few more stops we headed back. A great experience overall. We will definitely book another Segway tour the next time we are in Bordeaux.

This was a great fun way to experience the city. Riding the Segway was easy and we covered a lot of ground in a short period of time. The only issue was finding the business store front. But once there,it was great. Tour in both French and English.
