Our tour guide Dreu was very knowledgeable, passionate and funny. We lucked out with the weather and were able to see the glow and lava as well as the Milky Way. Great tour.

Aaron was Knowledgeable & Enjoyed the stories along with gentle reminders of Honoring & Respecting our Beautiful Surroundings. It's a long trip but worth it. Be mindful if u r last to be picked up u r on the last row of seats so if u struggle with moving around or overweight this might be an issue. Be sure to reserve first 3 rows. Highly recommend!

Aaron was very knowledgeable about the island and its history. Our kids voted the tour as their favorite part of the trip. We all learned so much from the tour, and it was very interesting to hear Aaron sharing about the real life of people living on the island. We had the chance to stargaze at the national park because of the clear weather. My kids were amazed to see the stars and hear all the stories.

I loved standing at the rim of the crater and going back after dark to see the glow of the lava. Drew was very knowledgeable about the geology and about Hawaiian legends.

Wow!!!! Amazing!!!! Best tour ever!! Jacqueline was amazing tour guide! She made this day so fun! I can’t even pick a top highlight because everything was so amazing! I will add one comment- if you go bring a set of warm clothes the night can get very cool at higher elevations- they tour does offer jackets and warmer parka type tops but your legs and feet will be very cold if you wear shorts and sandals - so happy we brought socks and pants! Don’t miss this tour! I cannot tell you how amazing it is! Reserve today!!!

Our 13 hour tour included a Kona coffee plantation, a black sand beach with turtles, a popular donut bakery, a lava tube cave, two trips to the volcano (day and night), a stop at the National Volcano Hotel, and stargazing on the ride home, plus lunch and dinner. Dreu (Darian) our tour guide, was awesome, talked and educated us the whole trip about flora, fauna, Hawaiian history, geology, religion, local customs, language, astronomy and had hilarious jokes mixed in. We highly recommend this tour and especially this tour guide.

Complete Taste of the Big Island
Edward_G

Aaron was our requested guide bc of the reviews. He is a walking encyclopedia of the Hawaiian culture and ecosystem. He was very concerned with our health and safety (good driver, pointed out bathrooms, offering water). The drive between stops was always filled with interesting facts about what we were stopping at or seeing along the way. He also paused with music during the breaks. We had a bento lunch, Kona coffee samples and tour at the coffee farm, bought sweetbread and malasadas at the bakery, strolling time on the black sand beach and lots of stops in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We saw craters, lava pools, and walked through the lava tube. We also stopped at the visitor center and lodge. A delicious dinner was had at Lava Rocks Cafe before heading back out to see the lava glow at night and stargazing. Aaron was very flexible. If the crater he had planned was closed off or the night sky wasn’t cooperating, he had backup plans to make sure we got our money’s worth. It was a long day and we were exhausted, napping here and there. But Aaron was always very alert and pleasant. One piece of advice is don’t plan this trip your first full day of your vacation like I did. I thought it was a good idea so that we could go back to things we wanted to see more of. I’d neglected to think of us just coming off off our two flights of sitting all day.

Our guide Aaron was amazing! He had an incredible amount of knowledge about all of our site visits, Hawaiian culture, and especially our star gazing experience. I can't say enough great things about our trip. A must for anyone looking for a memorable experience!

Tour guide Jaqueline was 5star awesome and very energetic and knowledgeable throughout our tour. The actual tour was way too long….probably 4-5 hours too long. Far too many points of interest were pointed out but passed right by as we didn’t get out to see them.

We had the most amazing tour with Jaclyn! She taught us so much about the Big Island, the Hawaiian language and culture, as well as the importance of conservation. She kept the energy up on the long rides and made the experience so much better than if we had tried to do this on our own. We got to see Sea Turtles at the black sand beach, the incredible lava glow, and a starry sky like we have never seen before. We had our 8 year old and 13 year old and they both ranked the tour at the top of their “favorite things we did on the Big Island.”

Our guide Dreu was amazing. We loved every stop. The coffee farm, the bakery, the black sand beach, the National Volcano Park, and the last-minute post-rain stargazing in Waikoloa. A wonderful day our family will not forget.

The whole tour was awesome. Our tour guide Aaron was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The highlight was the volcano. Meals provided are very good. Overall, it's definitely a worthwhile tour, but long. Take a jacket as it does get cooler at twilight.
