The Basics

Experience a traditional Catholic Mass or, when no service is being conducted, wander the nave free of charge, gaze at the huge stained glass windows, and take in the construction of the oldest church on US soil. Among its artifacts are the wax-covered mummy of 1st-century martyr St. Pius and the tomb of Ponce de León, notorious Spanish conquistador and the first governor of Puerto Rico. Guided walking tours of Old San Juan typically include a stop at the church.

Amazing
Tour guides were very knowledgeable of the food and the history behind it. All meals were thoughtfully planned out. It ended up only being me and my boyfriend on the tour, and all three tour guides still joined and shared their knowledge. Definitely recommend taking this tour to learn more about the history and eat some delicious food!

Old San Juan Walking Tour
David was amazing. Very well versed, knowledgeable about the history of old San.Juan. nice, easy paced tour, we got water.bottles and mementos before starting. David cares so much about his city that tours for, he would even pick up trash water bottles along the path of his walking tour , and dump them in nearby bins. I wish more tourists and residents followed his example too and kept his city beautiful and clean. A great tour, just the right time length, and I highly recommend him.

San Juan Done Right! - Driving Tour
What an excellent experience we had touring in and around San Juan with Lismar! She picked us up at our hotel right on time in a clean, roomy car. No wait at all. The tour was very informative, and Lismar obviously has a passion for teaching, for sharing her knowledge, and for her homeland. She has unique insights and also offers some off the beaten path type exposure as well. Highly recommend this tour!

Explore the history of Old San Juan
This is a must thing to do when in San Juan. We had so much fun we forgot we walked the city. Our guide was so kind and informative, I felt like he was our cousin showing us his home. Drank amazing Puerto Rico grown coffee and real fruit ice pops. Our tour guide not only showed us the best photo spots but it was like having our personal photographer with us. It felt like we had VIP access to the city.

The Tomb of Ponce de León

On his search to discover the elusive Fountain of Youth, Ponce de León landed at a place he called Florida and later conquered Puerto Rico, eventually being appointed governor of the island in 1509. His original resting place was Iglesia de San Jose, but in the early 1900s he was transferred to San Juan Cathedral, where his body lies in a marble tomb near the transept.
