Best Mayan Ruin Exploration
Absolutely loved our time at Uxmal. WAY less crowded than others and we got there early. Our guide, Edgar really made the day wonderful with all of his knowledge. He was easily able to answer all of our extra questions about Mexico in general & Mayan history. The cenote was also beautiful and not crowded at all. Overall an amazing day trip

Private Tour: Archeological Site Of Uxmal and the Chocolate Museum Day Trip
DON'T MISS THIS TOUR! Jorge was an INCREDIBLE guide! He was so knowledgeable, passionate, patient and kind. This tour was our favorite of everything we did on our trip! Uxmal is a sprawling, meticulously restored Mayan city. It blew Chichen Itza right out of the water in my opinion. A true must see. The Chocolate Museum is truly more of an experience than a Museum! We LOVED it!! There were several stations with live demonstrations & the Museum is also an animal sanctuary to monkeys, jaguars, deer & crocodiles. Incredible. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Go, go, go - you won't regret it.

Uxmal and Choco Story Private Tour
Our guide Raul was wonderful and very knowledgeable. They were very accommodating and we never felt rushed. The pickup was right on time and the large van was comfortable and snacks/drinks were provided. The price is very good, especially considering all fees and lunch were provided. Lunch was very good.

Yaxcopoil Hacienda & Uxmal Plus Cenote from Merida
We weren't sure which tour to book during our trip to Merida and eventually decided on this one because of the mix of activities -- we sure made the right decision. We were picked up on time from our hotel lobby (great communication with Amigo Tours prior) in a nice, clean, air conditioned vehicle. The driver was also the guide and was super nice, informative, and spoke good English. Uxmal is awesome (very few tourists), the hacienda is BEAUTIFUL (our tour of 6 people was the only one there!) and the cenote is fantastic (again, we were the only ones there). Lunch was delicious too. Honestly, this was one of the best organized tours we've ever booked on Viator (we book regularly and travel a lot). If you're going to Merida, don't think about it - just book this tour!

2-Day Trip of Main Yucatan Attraction Including Uxmal and Izamal
This tour of Uxmal, Merida, Izamal and Chichen Itza was excellent value and great fun.The guide (Abraham) who was very knowledgable and helpful, picked us up punctually in a spotless and clearly well maintained minibus. There were no extraneous sales stops at 'Carpet Weavers' or other local artisans, and the tour never felt rushed.DAY 1Uxmal is much quieter, but just as impressive as Chichen Itza, and so felt much more intimate. There was ample free time to explore Merida, and the hotel was excellent.DAY 2Izamal is very pretty and makes a fabulous coffee break, whilst Chichen Itza itself is unmissableOverall excelkent and highly recommended.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Avoid the long ticket lines when you prebook your Uxmal ruins admission.

  • Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking over uneven surfaces.

  • Bring sun protection and plenty of water, as there is little shade at the ruins.

  • Arrive early if you want to beat the crowds, especially during high season.

Puuc Route

Named for its Maya ruins, the Puuc Route runs along Highway 261 and links Uxmal with three other Puuc-style archaeological sites—Kabal, Sayil, and Labna. In addition to Maya ruins, you also find several small artisan villages, historic haciendas, and hidden cenotes along this well-traveled route that winds through a hilly area of the Yucatan Peninsula.
