Flavors of Oaxaca: Cooking Class with No Set Menu and Local Market Tour

Flavors of Oaxaca: Cooking Class with No Set Menu and Local Market Tour

Casa Crespo is Oaxaca in its kitchen. Tradition lives there, where chef Oscar Carrizosa, (originally from the Mixteca region) mixes the ingredients of the 16 ethnicities of Oaxaca with the original seasoning that he inherited from his grandma. It´s the perfect place to get to know the flavors and aromas of Oaxacan food in the classes that Oscar gives. To taste a good cup of coffee or a hot chocolate at Casa Crespo while getting ready for your market tour is also a good start to approach Oaxacan cuisine. Oscar, who is very friendly, also shows how to smell and identify the aromas that come of the dishes. He presents menu options and the students decide what they would like to cook. There is no fixed menu. He teaches how to cook 3 types of tortillas, 3 types of salsa, an appetizer, soup, mole, dessert and drink. Dishes that strive to remain in the taste buds and memory of those who love good eating.

Walk and discover the side of Puerto that tourists rarely see: real food, real people, real passion. If you are planning to go to Puerto Escondido this tour is a must. Why? Firstly, because you will discover the most “local” part of Puerto, where the locals actually eat, shop and live (far from the touristic beach sector). Secondly, because it’s got all the basics you need to know about Oaxaca’s food culture, this tour is packed with Mexican specialties and unique experiences to make you feel like a true Puerto local by the end of it (and for sure know the difference between a normal local cheese and the “Oaxacan” cheese one). Thirdly, it’s simply delicious So, if you feel hungry for Oaxacan cuisine, thirsty for cultural knowledge, and adventurous for an exciting walk – this tour is for you

Alonge the mexican coast line only here you can enjoy in five and a half hours tours a change of elevation which goes from cero to 4400 feet above the sea level, not only that, this is the only spot that connects back to back the best coral reef in the whole Pacific Ocean with the outstanding cloud forest above, along the way ...you will be see 3 towns at 3 different altitud, of very fifferent ages and of completely different background. One of them older than any city in Northamerica (our county sit town). A second one the origen of coffee in the State of Oaxaca, Pluma coffee is ranked top gourmet in the world. The trird one is our beatiful ecological minded town nice view point and explenation of its origen. Neat views of the Sierra Madre del sur, so if you want nature, culture, and aducational tour, this is the one. Ah!! and the best coffee taste and buy. Just do it!!!!!!!

Amazing Mountain Coffee Experience

Amazing Mountain Coffee Experience

Come experience the scenic drive through the Sierra Madre mountains as we wind our way through some of the most scenic views near Huatulco. As we move up the mountain, we have a wonderful little shopping town that you will get to experience some culture and maybe a souvenir or two. Our culture will captivate you with some of the most wonderful people you will see along the way. When we reach the coffee plantation, we will see first hand how the coffee is grown, and the many steps it takes to make coffee known in our area for being the best there is. We can eat a meal which is prepared by the family of the plantation. Delicious from the first bite to the last. When we are finished with the coffee tour, and we make our way back down the mountain, there is a magical place I like to visit. Lovingly known as the Orchid house, the plants that are grown here are breathtakingly beautiful. You will be mesmerized. Please take this opportunity for a truly Amazing Mountain Coffee Experience

"Tour and guide was superb. His background in archeology enhanced our experience. His knowledge and explanations were not notch. Don Rosalio Felix treated my family and myself with courtesy and a deep regard for someone seeking knowledge beyond cursory and superficial facts about the people, place and events at Monte Alban. Without reservation I recommend the operator of this tour. On a closing note, Mr. Felix even accommodated our need for cool refreshments on what was a hot and very sunny August day. Truly a scholar and a gentleman."..."

Real Coffee Plantation from Huatulco HT
"A must do! Alberto our guide is certified and biologist by background. He is very proud to explain the biodiversity of Huatulco and how this world class gourmet coffee comes to be. And he is supporting the local people by bringing you to Doña Alfonsina who plants, grows, picks, and roasts this coffee. Unlike any other experience. The Sierra Madre setting is unbelievable and the coffee out of this world. So happy to have met these people and see a glimpse into their artesanal work and passions. The breakfast option after the coffee plantation tour was also stellar! Muchas gracias!!!!"..."
