Tower of London

Tower Hill, London, England, EC3N 4AB

The Basics

Today, the tower famously displays the Crown Jewels (which include the Imperial State Crown) and holds centuries of history within its walls, drawing travelers from near and far. It remains guarded by members of the Royal Bodyguards, known as Beefeaters. Visitors can admire the Royal Armouries in the White Tower, walk along the battlements, and see where Anne Boleyn was executed by order of Henry VIII. The popular Torture at the Tower exhibit, the Coins and Kings exhibit at the Royal Mint, the Fusilier Museum, and the Line of Kings all shed light on the tower's history.

London In a Day: Tower of London, Westminster Abbey & Changing of the Guard
This was a great day-long trip (with time for lunch on your own). Our guide, Nick, was fantastic! We learned a lot about Westminster Abbey, English traditions and lore, and The Tower of London with all its sometimes grisly past. Recommended highly (and try to get Nick with London walks!).

VIP Tower of London and Crown Jewels Tour with Private Beefeater Meet & Greet
A great tour as you get a smaller audience with a Beefeater. The tour guide was interesting, and incredibly knowledgeable about the Tower of London. We were able to get inside before a large crowd started to form which was great. She pointed out all the places to see once her tour was finished, like visiting inside the White Tower, where there's an armoury. Overall, really enjoyed this tour.

London for Kids with Changing of the Guard, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London
Wow! We had the best day with Lucy our tour guide. It was a full day and a lot of walking and sightseeing, but we were so entertained, we barely noticed. We are a family of 5 and our youngest is 9. We toured Westminster Abbey, we watched part of the changing of guards ceremony and toured the Tower of London. Lucy not only gave us a tour of these amazing places she made it fun and she answered all our crazy questions. I would absolutely recommend this tour!

British Royalty Walking Tour & Visit the Tower of London
It was a lovely tour with a lot of good information and history. Connor timed us well to put us at the right time, right place situation for changing of the guards. He was also entertaining and made the morning fun. I would say the only draw back was the departure and just being sent on our way to get to the Tower of London. We weren’t to savvy with the underground so that presented a bit of a challenge for us.

Private Tower of London Opening Ceremony with Changing of The Guard and Cruise
What an amazing experience with Michael! The Tower of London was self guided and then the Thames river tour was a great way to get to see the changing of the guard and then to visit the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Michael was a wealth of knowledge and had us situated at the perfect spots to see the ceremonial changing of the guards!!

Private Tower of London Opening Ceremony with Changing of The Guard and Cruise
Great directions to meet up with the tour. Margaret, our tour guide had a great sense of humor as she told us the stories about the Tower of London. My wife and I were amazed and had a terrific time learning and seeing all about the place. The boat cruise and Buckingham palace were like an added bonus. We highly recommend this tour.
