The Basics

The Guard Mounting ceremony begins with the New Guard marching from Wellington Barracks to Buckingham Palace with a marching band, while the mounted Horse Guards Parade leaves from the Hyde Park barracks and crosses The Mall to St. James' Place. The official guard change then takes place in the palace forecourt. Some London walking tours include a timed stop at the palace to see the event, while other tours combine a viewing with a visit to the Tower of London or a whirl on the London Eye.

Amazing Experience
Fabulous tour! Our guide was so knowledgable, informative, and helpful. Worth the money for the early entrance to the Tower and the Crown Jewels and to experience the opening of the Tower. We had a fantastic time and felt very well informed and taken care of!

Best of London Including Tower of London, Changing of the Guard, with a Cream Tea or London Eye Upgrade
The tour guide, Ben, was very good. He was knowledgeable and energetic. St. Pauls was beautiful and interesting. The changing of the guard was hard to see or hear after the initial guards marching to the palace. London tower was very cool, I would have liked a little more in depth history there and more free time to explore. The Thames river tour was really comfortable, and it was private. We learned a great deal about London, its buildings and its history as we rode and walked all over town.

Marnie was excellent She was very knowledge and friendly Would highly recommend. She was great and no fault to her as the ceremony was shortened due to rain. Tour was still same amount of time as Marnie talked about other relevant aspects. She was exceptional!!

A Definite Can't Miss Tour When Visiting London

Changing of the Guard Small-Group Walking Tour
One of our favorite excursions while visiting London. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour a great experience for us both. We were in a great location to see the changing of the guards. We would highly recommend attending on Sundays since you can see both the horse guards changing, as well as, the foot soldiers. We love “Marnie”, our tour guide and would highly recommend this tour to others.

Royal London Walking Tour: Early Access Tower of London & Changing of The Guard
Amber was a great tour guide, and very entertaining! She was super informative and energetic. We learned so much in a seemingly short amount of time. Getting early access to the Tower and the cruise down the Thames alone made this tour worth the price. I also liked that it was only a half day, leaving ample time to squeeze other attractions and activities that day; definitely a good choice if you're only in London a short amount of time like we were.

Best of London Including Tower of London, Changing of the Guard, with a Cream Tea or London Eye Upgrade
The tour was good. we paid ~$135 for package... Individually the Tower of London cost is 29.5 pounds and Thames cruise is 13 pounds...so total about $50....this means the bus and tour guide cost is ~$75...probably would have spent more for Uber and tour guide..... Tour guide was very knowledgeable and got us good spots to view the changing of the guards....
