The Basics

To avoid spending hours in line at the Accademia Gallery, snag skip-the-line tickets in advance or opt for a private guided tour. David is unsurprisingly popular and set in one of the most crowded parts of the gallery—for the best photo ops, book a coveted, exclusive, early-access tour. To maximize your time in Florence, choose a half- or full-day tour that visits both the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery or also includes a city sightseeing tour.

An outstanding tour and the only one you should consider. Knowledgeable, patient, interested, kind and complete. A great personal tour. Smart to go early, smart to book a private tour with a guide that is so informed. Answered questions, engaged adults and kids and teens. Everyone completely enjoyed it.

Bernardo was a fabulous guide and very knowledgeable in art history. He has a great sense of humor and his English was perfect! Definitely worth it as we only had 2 days in Florence.
Loved it.

All worked and we got a fast entry. The statues were impressive but a little bit more of story telling would have been cool

The art is simply beautiful with a wide array of offerings through the ages. Basically, the tickets get you into the venue and you are them on your own.
Great guide

It was more than I thought when I took this tour. The history and details that our guide told us was amazing. Stepping back in time and feeling small on a scale of time.
After the tour, you'll feel like you're on treasure hunt!

This was an amazing tour. Renata was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Though we were disappointed that the Accademia was closed, she more than made up for it with the city tour and the Uffizi!

What Not to Miss at the Accademia Gallery

The scale of Michelangelo’s David (carved from a single block of Carrara marble) is enough to impress, but its fine details and lifelike features make it a true masterpiece. Travelers spend most of their time admiring David, but those interested in Michelangelo’s life and other works should also see his unfinished San Matteo or Prigioni that adorn the main hallway. The plaster model of Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabine Women also shouldn’t be missed.
