LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Oberhausen
Most travelers visit LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Oberhausen independently, either on a day trip from Düsseldorf or Dortmund or while staying in Oberhausen. Purchase tickets online in advance for a discount, or buy them at the door. The center has 12 different themed attractions, including Pirate Island and Merlin’s Magic Library; two low-key rides; and a 4D adventure in the movie theater. Additionally, kids can go through LEGO school with real LEGO model builders in the Model Builders’ Workshop, while at the LEGO Factory they can learn about the production of the colorful bricks and even create their own to take home.
Things to Know Before You Go
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Oberhausen is a must-visit for families with children aged 3 to 10.
Adults (18+) must be accompanied by children—and children must be accompanied by an adult.
The venue is fully wheelchair-accessible.
There is a café on-site, and guests may bring their own food.
How to Get There
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is located opposite the CentrO Shopping Mall in Oberhausen, about a 45-minute drive from both Düsseldorf and Dortmund. If driving, you can park at the mall free of charge. From Oberhausen railway station, multiple buses go to the Neue Mitte stop, which is less than a 10-minute walk from the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.
When to Get There
The center is open seven days a week, from morning until early evening, all year round, except for December 24. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre limits the number of people who can be inside at one time, so book ahead to reserve your preferred time slot. Give your family around three hours to fully explore the center.
Located right next to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, the LEGOLAND® Shop is well-stocked with LEGO products. Peruse the latest brick sets, a large selection of minifigure parts, and branded clothing to take home for gifts or a souvenir of your visit.
