How to Get There

Wicklow Mountains tours are offered with daily departures from Dublin city center. The scenic route to the mountains from Dublin takes about an hour by car or coach via the winding Military Road, which passes numerous bogs and lakes along the way. It’s also possible to arrive by rail tour, which removes the hassle of navigating mountain roads without compromising the stunning views of the Irish countryside.

An Enjoyable Days Outing
We enjoyed our trip from start to end. The guide/driver, Sarah, was excellent. Gave a lot of historical information as well as general information which added to our journey. Our times in Kilkenny city and Glendalough were very interesting and finishing the day at Cullen's farm was enjoyable. We hope to take other trips with you in the future.

Great day trip, could've done without Kilkenny but loved Glendalough. The Wicklow mountains portion is just driving through it as well not really a stop.

Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains Day Tour from Dublin
If you're looking for a perfect day trip outside of Dublin, this one is fantastic, especially if you like nature! Wish we'd had a little more time in Avoca, but that's my only small complaint - beyond that, I had the best time. The stops were phenomenal, the bus was clean, the driver was a hoot, and you can't beat the gorgeous scenery.

Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains Half Day Tour from Dublin
This tour was our favorite part of visiting Dublin. mountains are gorgeous and not too far away! Our guide shared a lot about Irish life with us which we lived hearing and the history behind Glendalough is fascinating. Definitely go on this quick half day trip.

Awesome experience. Noel and Sean made sure that everyone would enjoy the day. We had a little extra time at Glendalough and Noel showed us the way to do a quick hike up the mountain into the forest....anyway, we had a great time and highly recommend this day trip

Great way to spend a day outside of Dublin. Informative and entertaining tour guides. The Kilkenny had many things to do and friendly people. Very pretty drive up to the Wicklow mountains and the sheep dog trials were fun to watch. Definitely worth while, and gets you back early enough in the evening to do more things in Dublin.

It was a great experience. JB and Pat were really funny. The only problem during the tour was it was way too cold in February. But I still enjoyed it.

Wicklow Mountain Scenery

From bog lands to heather fields, stunning mountain landscapes awaits at the Wicklow Mountains. The park features Glencree Valley and Sally Gap, in addition to one of Ireland’s highest waterfalls, Powerscourt. Other must-see spots include theP.S. I Love You Bridge; Powerscourt Gardens at the Powerscourt Estate; the Wicklow Gap, where much ofBraveheartwas filmed; and Lough Tay, also known as Guinness Lake. Many tours include nature walks with a tour guide, and some allow for exploring nearby medieval villages such as Kilkenny and the round tower at the Glendalough Monastic Settlement, founded by St. Kevin in the sixth century. Because there’s so much natural beauty to take in at the national park, it’s recommended that you spend a full day here.

Stop by Fitzgerald's Pub in Avoca in County Wicklow for lunch at a traditional Irish pub. Plus, what’s lunch on the Emerald Isle without a Guinness to go with it?
