Plimoth & Patuxet

137 Warren Ave, Plymouth, Boston

The Basics

The Plimoth & Patuxet museum is spread out among three separate sites that all charge separate admission fees: Plimoth & Patuxet, the Mayflower II, and the Plimoth Grist Mill. At the main site, you’ll explore a working English village and meet with historical reenactors, following the Pilgrims’ journey from March through November 1627 and witnessing key moments in their lives during that year. You can also visit the Wampanoag Homesite, a recreation of 17th-century Wampanoag life featuring indigenous interpreters rather than role players.

Wonderful, informative, fun trip!!!
Kristen, our guide, was a wealth of knowledge on the local history. She was an excellent tour guide and went our of her way and off the beaten path to give us an exceptional touring experience of the local history. Our whole group of five was very impressed with her friendly personality, knowledge and willingness to share the rich heritage of the birthplace of our great nation. We will highly recommend this tour to our family and friends.

Visiting John Adams home and the Plymouth plantation was great. Bus was uncomfortable, we were stuck in the last row.

The plantation was amazing and we loved the people dressed in genuine clothing who provided great information. The Mayflower was interesting but the Grist Mill was less interesting to us.

Boston to Plymouth Day-Trip with Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock
Great trip with Kristin as guide. She really was fantastic about giving us all information about areas both anecdotal and historical. She grew up in areas so great choice to guide. Only negative was several guests ignored the required masking policy and was never enforced. One person sat in the front row and never wore a mask as required yet was never told to do so. Either have a policy and enforce it or don’t.

Absolutely enjoyed our time in Plymouth exploring the history of Plymouth Plantation, The Grist Mill & The Mayflower. Brought to mind the extrodinary journey & sacrifices the New England families made to worship & live freely in The New World.

Kristin was great. She was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the area and history. We saw many sites, not just Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower. Would highly recommend if you have an extra day in Boston.

Boston to Plymouth Day-Trip with Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock
tour guide, christie was fun and knowledgable, we were given ample time to view the different sites we visited. the only thing i would suggest would be letting prospective tourists wanting to take tours if you were making a breakfast stop or not. this tour made a stop at the 1st ever Dunkin Donuts, which was nice, but our martha's tour made a stop at a Mcdonalds....we could have gotten a extra hours sleep if we would have known these stops were going to be made....

When to Get There

Plimoth & Patuxet is open from mid-March through November, and there are regular seasonal programs, such as corn planting and harvesting. The attraction tends to be more crowded in summer and fall; spring is ideal if you want to avoid the crowds. From May to June and October to November, school groups frequently visit; if you visit during these months, plan to start to later in the afternoon.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

At the Plymouth Waterfront, home of the Mayflower II, you’ll find “Should I Stay or Should I Go?,” an interactive exhibit that challenges kids and adults alike to play the role of a Pilgrim journeying across the Atlantic Ocean in 1620. You’ll be encouraged to think through the decisions the original colonists faced when considering whether to trek to a new land.
