Treat yourself to a unique French cooking class set inside the famous Les Halles Market of Avignon. Under the guidance of a master chef, you’ll create a menu using ingredients from the market itself, and then cook them to eat for lunch. If eating (not cooking) is more your thing, you can select a tasting-only option that includes a market visit, samples, and a cooking demonstration by the chef.

Our pétanque lessons are available every day, all year long. The tour last at least 2 hours. First we'll teach you, only in English, the rules of the game along with a brief history of the sport. Then you'll learn how to handle the boule, throw, shoot, score, and master the fine art of disputing a point. You'll play competitive games of pétanque (with a glass of rosé in your hand, of course!). Your hosts will also have some homemade Pastis for sampling. We'll present the winning team with a commemorative trophy during an apero with Pastis, rosé, red wine and traditional homemade Provencal snacks (pâtés, tapenade, mushrooms and goat cheese) while overlooking one of Provence's most magnificent landscapes.

The subsequent book went on to win the Gourmand Award Book of the Year on French wine and to be published worldwide including, American, Australian, Chinese, Polish, and Dutch editions. Peter Mayle, the Author of a Year in Provence kindly commented “At last a man who takes his rosé seriously enough to write a delightful book about it.” After Extremely Pale Rosé Jamie went on to write two more books on pink wine, one on truffles and a Guide Book on Provence.
