Navajo Tribal Park, Page, Arizona, 86040

The Basics

Many travelers visit Antelope Canyon on photography tours to capture the colors and shapes of the canyon's sinuous walls or to spot local wildlife, such as the pronghorn antelope. Often, Antelope Canyon tours also visit Lake Powell or nearby Horseshoe Bend, a scenic viewpoint overlooking a curve in the Colorado River. Slot canyon tours from Flagstaff and Sedona typically include round-trip transportation. Other more comprehensive multi-day tours of the southwest depart from Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon National Park.

Scott is the man!!
Scott, our guide, was amazing!! Didn’t talk our heads off, but very knowledgeable, very intelligent, and you could tell he loves what he does! Opened and closed the door for my GF and always helped her with the seatbelt!! Took incredible pictures and even took us on 2 impromptu spots for some extra views and pictures! Would 1000% recommend this tour and BEG FOR SCOTT!!! Simply incredible!!!!

Antelope Slot Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Day Tour from Sedona
From the outlet, our Driver (Dominic) set the tone for the day - arrived early and he was very personable. The drive was smooth and full of historical insights from Dom. The van was clean and comfortable. The stop at Horseshoe Bend was a nice surprise, but Antelope Canyon was breathtaking and no words can describe. Our on-site tour guide Leonard was off the hook - informative and helpful with the best spots for pictures. Would rate the entire day a 10+ if possible.

Lower or X Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend Small Group Tour - Las Vegas
Itah was very timely, efficient, knowledgeable, and a great driver (not to mention a great photographer who took many pics for us). We had more than enough time to explore and take pictures of Horseshoe Bend. Both Horseshoe Bend and Lower Antelope Canyon were amazing and sites not to be missed. The drive was long but expected, the frequent stops were very helpful and gave you plenty of time to take naps!

Half Day Tour of Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon from Page Arizona
Great Experience. Tour Guide for lower antelope canyon was very informative and professional. Stacy took good care of us taking photos at key points. Tour Guide for upper antelope canyon was nice and informative but we felt little rushed and her was little bossy. Overall great experience. Tilford from Dineh tours is a great guy, very professional, and nice. Very accommodative, he gave us good tips on iPhone camera adjustments.

Lower Antelope Canyon Ticket
My husband and I were mesmerized by the beauty of the Antelope Canyon. Our tour guide was very good and knowledgeable about the history of the canyon and the Native American culture. We extended our trip in AZ for this tour and it was totally worth it. We definitely recommend this tour to our friends and family.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • This Navajo nation landmark can only be seen with an authorized tour guide.

  • Bring your camera and a tripod for long exposure shots—photography enthusiasts travel from all over to snap photos of Antelope Canyon.

  • The more popular of the two, Upper Canyon is easily walkable thanks to a level sandy surface but not easily accessible for wheelchair users.

  • Lower Canyon involves a longer walk that requires climbing metal staircases and is therefore totally inaccessible to wheelchair users.

How to Get There

Antelope Canyon is set 7.6 miles (12.2 kilometers) from the city of Page, near the Arizona-Utah border. By road, Flagstaff and Sedona are two hours and three hours away, respectively. Although you must have a guide upon arrival, it's also easy to drive right to Lower Antelope Canyon from Flagstaff, Sedona, and even Phoenix by heading north along Arizona State Route 98.

When to Get There

Although the canyon is open year-round, many travelers consider March through October to be the best time to visit, mainly because of the favorable lighting conditions at that time of year. This lighting makes for a stellar display in the dark canyons, with the sun illuminating the cracks and crevices of the colorful canyon's red rock walls. Expect temperatures near 100°F (38°C) in summer.
