The Basics

The Heineken Experience tour takes place inside the former Heineken brewery. Wander past vintage brewing equipment and tall malt silos, and participate in interactive exhibits. Along the way you'll have a chance to watch international Heineken commercials and observe the life cycle of the signature green bottle. You'll finish the brewery tour like a VIP with free beers in the tasting room.

The Heineken tour is one of the most popular activities in Amsterdam, so it's best to book admission in advance. The experience can be paired with a canal cruise to take in more of the city.

Heineken Experience Amsterdam & 1-Hour Canal Cruise
A great way to spend a few hours. The Heineken experience was great learning about the history of the brewery. Samples were a bonus as well. The canal cruise was a little more than an hour and was a great way to see the city and relax.

Heineken Experience Amsterdam & 1-Hour Canal Cruise
Heineken tour is brilliant and a fun experience! The boat trip is from central station so tram ride away from Heineken but liked there was no time given for boat so you could get on at whatever time suited. Audio was good we sat outside even though cold it was a nicer experience being outside!

Blue Boat Amsterdam Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience
Two ways to see Amsterdam: walk through the streets or take a canal cruise. Fascinating and vibrant city and canal cruises are extremely educational and entertaining. A great way to learn some of the city's history and feature. There are many different tours operating. Be aware that you will be expected to make a gratuity on disembarking. Great experience. Loved it.

If you are doing the Heineken experience and you enjoy drinking, take the tour after going to Heineken because you can start three drinks at heineken and finish up buying and drinking more suring the cruise.

Blue Boat Amsterdam Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience
The Heineken tour was cool but my favorite part was cruising the canals and learning the history of Amsterdam. Would recommend this one.

Blue Boat Amsterdam Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience
It was confusing where to pick up the Blue Boat cruise. 3 locations were listed on our ticket but only 1 location was open. We went to the wrong one & missed the 4:30 tour because we had to walk 15 minutes to the next location. Luckily they were very nice & let us take the 5:00 canal ride. We then went to the Heineken Experience & did not see a time posted on our ticket. They went ahead & let us in. We enjoyed both tours but were very frustrated before the tours began. Please only list the 1 location of the boat cruise.

Great Experience

Blue Boat Amsterdam Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience
I was really impressed with both the Heineken experience and the canal cruise. This is a must on any Amsterdam trip. However, I initially had a bad experience with one of the customer servie advisors at the blue boat company. I had bought a ticket for the Heineken experience for the 16th of January and you could do the canal cruise on any day, as per my understanding, which is fine. So on the 15th I was visiting the Van Gogh museum, on my way I saw the ticket office of the blue boat company next to the hard rock cafe. I advised the guy that I had a dual ticket and I was just double checking if I could come any day for the canal cruise, the guy told me they do not do any dual tickets and that I have been scammed and advised it could also be for some other company. I assured him that it was definately the blue boat company but he was not intrested. I did not have the ticket on me on the day. The next day I went to the Heineken experience and tried the blue boat company next to the Heineken and everything was fine. So the person at the other blue boat ticket office gave me an unnecessary scare and was a bit rude and not intrested, this is not good customer service. However, I was impressed with both the experiences.

Fun but disorganized

Blue Boat Amsterdam Canal Cruise and Heineken Experience
The information given was very confusing. We were scheduled at 5:00, so we did the H ex first but when we went out for our Blue Boat ride at 6:15 they said we had to be there by 6:00 which was definitely not on the instructions. He agreed to honor our ticket but the next boat would ya e been an 1 1/2 hours due to break downs. Thank goodness a very nice capt from the Heineken boat said we could cruise with him, but again the attendant said we couldn’t. He finally gave in and we had a great time on the Heineken boat. I would definitely recommend making the the information more simple to follow.

Edible Amsterdam

You're sure to have worked up an appetite after sipping beers at the Heineken Experience, so continue satisfying your stomach by exploring Amsterdam's culinary offerings. Consider booking a food-themed tour that combines two of Amsterdam's top attractions—a pizza cruise along the canals plus a beer tour—or head off on an afternoon food walking tour of the Dutch capital after visiting the Heineken Experience in the morning. Another option is to visit a local host's home for dinner, where you'll really get a taste of Dutch culture.
